Pleasantly surprised. Not the typical Soul food restaurant and menu. I enjoyed the salmon croquettes and sides I was served.... Especially because it seemed to be more health consciously prepared. Not to mention the friendly service, nice clean environmentand reasonable prices. I will go back. Read more
Great atmosphere, good food. I had the pork spare ribs, tender & seasoned well; the candied yams were good not overly sweet... just needed a little salt to bring out the flavor; cabbage was good. My first time dining here but definitely NOT MY LAST! My server (Earl) was attentive and knowledgeable about all of the food... items. I ordered the 4 item Vegetable Plate. The greens were delicious! The Mac and cheese was Awesome! The Black-eyed Peas,Chicken Tetrazzini cup, Dressing, and Cornbread were to die for!!! This is one of THE BEST Soul-food places I have eaten at in avery long time!!! First time visit to this restaurant. The food was average not outstanding and that\'s why I gave it three stars. I had pork... chops, they were under seasoned and overdone. I had chili beans they were excellent and I had the yams. I can\'t tell if theywere canned or not but it was definitely nothing to write home about. I also got the pound cake. It was not a pound cake, ittasted like a yellow box cake with a very sweet icing. It was definitely not pound cake and for the $6 price you should avoidit. My recommendation is the chili beans they were good. The customer service was excellent, so I will go again, maybe I caughtthem on an off day. Read more

First time dining here. Nice ambience. Ordered the catfish (a little salty) dinner with candied yams, mac & cheese and... cornbread. Hearty serving, had to take some home! Will be back! Read more
I don\'t know about the rest of the food there but, my meal was ????. My smothered steak was dry. My broccoli and rice... casserole and cabbage was EXTREMELY bland. The cornbread was good though. TOO MUCH MONEY FOR BORING FOOD! Read more
