Reviews for Luigi's ITALIAN RESTAURANT in Castroville, TX
Great authentic, homemade, Italian, cuisine. Sauces and pasta are made in house. You can taste the freshness and the difference... in the food. Less sodium and preservatives. Generous portions of food. Lovely and quaint seating inside and outside. We enjoyedsitting in the garden outside. Quiet and nice scenery. The wait staff and owner are very friendly, accommodating, andprofessional. This is my new favorite Italian restaurant. You can't beat the authenticity. We enjoyed this restaurant very muchand will definitely return. Read more
Wonderful pizza. I'm simple and love cheese. However that pesto with garlic knots is so addictive you get full too fast! My gosh... it has an amazing look and feel. Why did I never go here before?!? The food was actually too good for my hungry self to takephotos of before I demolished most of it. Yeah. Give it a try. 10/5 Read more
We visited on a Sunday after attending church nearby. The food is some of the best Italian I've ever eaten outside of Italy!! We... had the trio player, spaghetti marinara, chicken Alfredo and a pizza amongst my family. All were very pleased with the food andloved the space. It truly feels like a small trattoria in Europe. Highly recommend for everyone!!! Worth going out of your wayfor. ???? And don't forget dessert! To die for!!!!!!! Read more

This is THE place to visit in Castroville. Amazing service and even better food. We popped in for a late Sunday lunch and will... definitely be back. Awesome atmosphere and great people! We had the Stromboli and Calzone, not much of a difference but thebread was to die for. Don?t have to worry about soggy bread here, on par with what we had in Italy! Read more
Update: went to Luigi's again and got the same dish, but how it's supposed to be made and it was SUPERB, the sauce has a bit of... tanginess from the tomatoes. However, with GOB was just as good. One of my dining companion got the Calamari and it was cookedthe way a Calamari should be cooked- crispy and not chewy. There was more people working, so it could have been the cook wastrying to do too many things. After reading the reviews and word of mouth, we decided to give Luigi's a try. This is in smalltown Castroville, so we parked on the street. As you step in, you notice the rustic feel of the historic building, theambience was inviting. You can sit inside or outside - it was a little too warm for outdoor seating. We went during the weekdayfor dinner so we thought it wouldn't be too busy - well, they were short staffed. I believe it was the owner that was takingorders and was also the waiter. Luckily, it wasn't super busy. There was a group of 6 or 7 and maybe 4 other smaller group oftwos. As you sit, a fresh batch of warm delicious garlic knots/ rolls makes its way to the table. It was so good! I was wantingthe "GOB" - garlic, olive oil, basil to go with the rolls but the menu has Alfredo-Alla Panna and according to the owner, it's ared sauce. I think there was some misunderstanding because he thought I wanted GOB as the sauce for my Linguine Tuttomare entreethat I ordered. My meal came with a salad (or soup) and I did not realize there were different Italian dressing options. I gotthe house Italian dressing and it was delicious! It had a unique flavor I've not had in a house dressing before so I dipped myrolls into it and it was heavenly ????. We ordered the Linguine Tuttomare and Chicken Rollatini and for appetizer, theCalamari. The entrees were both SUPERB, even though the sauce for the Linguine Tuttomare wasn't the white wine sauce with touchof marinara.as listed on the menu. Dishes for bursting with fresh flavor, ingredients, garl Read more
