Passed by church?s chicken and had to stop by. So happy we did. We got two 3 piece chickens and a smoked chicken and ended up... spending like $20-25 and loved it. Honestly was better than most chicken places I have been to. I really loved this place! We stopped driving through because we had never been to church?s chicken! I?m so glad we went. The... food was hot and fresh, the staff made lovely recommendations that saved us $$! The restaurant was visibly clean and you couldsee the staff was using safe food handling! Our food looked like it popped out of a picture! We had a wonderful experience. Ilet the man working know me and my son were from Alaska and had never been to church?s and he made sure to make top notchrecommendations! So friendly and helpful. First it took 20min to get my food when there was only 1 person in front of me. Then they forgot my macaroni so I had to tell... them. Then they gave me a regular instead of a large so they had to exchange it (this was through the drive through). Then I gethome and I received a 3 piece chicken strip meal instead of a 5 piece. I don't think its that hard to look at the order screenand provide a correct order. Not a great addition to castroville when we already have multiple other chicken places that do amuch better job. Chicken looks great. Problem! Health issues. Workers come in from break and do NOT wash hands before handling food. Manager... wiping nose and handling money NOT washing hands before handling food!!! Call to heath department has been made! UPDATE...Chicken was not typical Churches flavor. Biscuits were tiny hard as a rock plus large sides were not Large. Thiscan't be a corporate owned store. Not going to last long with Bushes and Golden Chicken nearby. I will go to either one ofthose before stepping foot back into this location. FYI Lytle and Devine Churches locations are great. Read more
