Course good shape. Bunkers need fresh sand. Nice restaurant and bar. Nice selection of ladies apparel.
Fairways are tight, lots of elevation changes throughout the course. Beautiful views throughout. The course is a 4 star, 4.5/5... stars if they cleaned it up and also replaced/refined the sand in the traps. There are lots of traps, so I can't imagine an easyprocess, but some of them are quite chunky. The pace of play after 3:00 PM isn't great, hence the 3 stars. They offer a niceprice but have tee-off times in 5 min intervals, causing clogs. Read more
It's a decent enough course, but poorly managed. They really need to make a decision on whether to close it down to the public... and just host private events, or limit private events so that people can actually play it. If you go look at their calendar, you'll see that the course and restaurant are closed at least 2-3 days per week, sometimes as many as 4. This summer the coursehas been closed every Friday, which is a day that a lot of people like to play. Their rack rates are absurd. $130+ for anaverage course with a 5 hour pace of play being the fastest you'll every get around it. So that pretty much forces you to buyone of their expensive memberships (around $5k) if you want to play for a reasonable rate. But good luck trying to get a teetime when the course is ALWAYS closed for a private event. The course is shut down for 4 months in the winter even when theweather is nice. So unless you're retired, you might be able to get in 20-25 rounds a year if you're lucky. That works out toabout $190/round for pass holders. They really need to hire someone to manage the place that knows what they're doing. Read more
This review is based on my last visit. The course is great, nice lay out, its fair but challenging. Very scenic , the back... specifically. We played on a Sunday. When we checked in we had to wait for roughly 20 minutes because they were short on golfcarts. Kitchen was closed at 6 on a Sunday which was a bit of a bummer too. If you have not played here check it out, very solidcourse. Read more
I enjoyed myself and had a fun, challenging round. I?m not sure I could justify the $145 weekend price tag though, hence the 4... stars. Views are phenomenal around the course. A few small parts could have been in better condition, but the lack of recentrain is likely the issue there. I?m glad I was invited and would play again if someone offers to pay for me. Otherwise I?ve asgood a time at locations I find to be better bang for the buck. Have fun! Read more
I'm giving it 4 stars because of the staff. There were multiple holes with multiple staff where they kept their machines running... right at the tee box or on the green. Putting while the lawn mower runs 15 feet from you is distracting. They had no care in theworld. Otherwise the course was in phenomenal shape except for maybe one green. For $115 for a round the golf is challengingand fun. I'd come back again but would like to see some basic staff training. Read more
Excellent staff in the pro shop and restaurant. Troon Golf is a great manager of this well designed course.
