Great location, picturesque, friendly staff, nice selection of draft beer. We went twice, once when it was very busy and once on... a quiet afternoon and both times we were seated and served promptly and with a smile. But, the food was not good. The fish wasfresh on a soggy bun with cold fries, cole slaw was soggy and tasteless. The miniature shrimp and calamari were lost in batter.The hot wings were battered and did not come with blue cheese or veggie. I will go back but I might try eating at the stand inthe parking lot. We dropped in for a mid-Saturday afternoon lunch. The staff was very slow acknowledging our presence and slower to get us to a... table. When we were seated, we began having second thoughts about staying but a server finally showed up to take orders. Many,many minutes later our beverages arrived and the food got there around 20 minutes later. Now, our food was very good. We hadsandwiches, but they were tasty and generous. There was a replica sailing ship tied up to the restaurant?s dock so they may havehad more business than anticipated. They may have also been understaffed, but that didn?t seem to be the case. We were in therestaurant well over an hour and a half for two sandwiches and beverages. The server was attentive after we were served and sawthat we got things we asked for. But, our afternoon was pretty well trashed at that point. We are likely to go back to see iflassitude recurs and is part of their culture. The food was well prepared and tasty, but s l o w. I think Dan Bassler had a bad day. Solid service, but maybe not awesome. Food was very good. Large local craft beers. Amazing... atmosphere and views. Servers were primarily young which is hard to find in Maine. Loved the place. I may move to Castine andeat here every night. Read more
OMG the lobster bisque was so rich and delicious. ???? Drinks are fabulously yummy and went down so well, too well ???? Tried... the crabcakes and scallops oh my I can't say enough about it. Great place, wonderful waitress, and perfect view. Read more
We had the shrimp and calamari appetizer. It would have been better if the size of the shrimp and calamari were larger. The crab... cakes could have been cooked a little longer and only one side of the scallops were seared. The food tasted delicious and theservice was fantastic as always. Read more
