I went there last night to see how their opening with Covid-19 and highly disappointed and I love Tony's usually. There was a... line because only half can go in. 3 people wearing mask including me and not distancing themselves. The man at the door wasrude, let a girl in 2 people behind me when I said I'm alone. Well I walk in and just as packed as last year and nobody wearinga mask except me. No tables were separated and the bar and everywhere else packed. I walked out and said too crowded you allcan get Covid-19 but I'm not. I really love Tony's was there every weekend before shutting down. This is the whole real Bidenmight do another lockdown. This is by far the best oyster bar in the county. Shucker's in wake forest should not even make the list because they put... booths in where they used to shuck oysters in front of you. And 42 street oyster bar is good but is too crowded and smack dab inthe middle of downtown... Shucking shack is kinda like a small bar that also does oysters.... None are anything like Tony's! Some of the best and most affordable seafood in Raleigh.... Not to mention that the atmosphere and setup at the raw bar is... conducive to a good time! We started with steamed oysters that come with the best Cole slaw I've ever had (might sound like aweird combo but you have to try it!). Someone else ordered the nachos and they were HUGE and packed with flavor. For entrees weordered salmon that was just perfectly cooked and seasoned, a surf and turf burger, crab legs and shrimp. Food and service was not horrible, but not good either. Floors and tables sticky and we just felt gross sitting there. Entire... place needs some deep cleaning. Server was excellent though!!! For the money I would go somewhere else. Read more
Tony's was ok. The food was ok, the service was ok. We had ordered a half dozen oysters on the half shell as an appetizer, but... our entrees actually made it to the table first. We cancelled the appetizer. The excuse was they were having a hard time findinggood oysters, but a party of four came in after us and were served several dozen. There were only 8 customers in the restaurant.Considering oyster bar is in the name, they should have an adequate supply of oysters a half an hour after opening on a weekend.Rather expensive for two sandwiches and two alcoholic beverages (plus tip, $50). This place is great! I love it. This is my go to for great food at a great price. The staff remembered me... From a year... ago!!! And, I was there only once. Impressive. I mostly go there on Monday and Tuesday; now that I live in the area. The foodhere is fresh and the staff friendly. Customers are like family as conversations are commonplace with staff and with othercustomers. You are not a stranger in this place for very long. I highly recommend this place for a family dinner, date night, orjust a great place to go and hang out. Great place for a meal, date night, or family. Read more
