Went to Sophie's for the first time last night, and it was such a unique experience! Simeon was a wonderful host to us and was... so helpful giving us suggestions & explanations of the various Bulgarian dishes. Everything we tried was delicious! An excellent dining experience, furthered by the knowledgable and entertaining front of house staff! Splendid mix of culinary... dishes ranging from uniquely prepared burgers to classic central and Eastern European dishes that will leave you longing for thehome country. Sophie’s is hands down my favorite local restaurant in the Triangle area! You can tell that Sophie’s Greek/Armenian... proprietor & chef Desi has fun in the kitchen coming up with new delicious Eastern European & Continental dishes. I’ve hadthe amazing vegetarian lasagna, Goulash, several salads, fish, and every time I leave wanting to come back for more. TheArmenian bacon wrapped figs are my favorite!! I recently celebrated my daughters graduation at Sophie’s because I knew wewould all love our meals and be treated like family! Beyond its amazing cuisine, Sophie’s staff is also 5 stars!!! Headserver Simeon as well as Dali from Bulgaria make you feel like you’re on vacation from the moment they greet you! They’reattentive to every detail and strive to make your time at Sophie’s an experience. We arrived with our family, and we were greeted by Simeon, the manager, and Ksenia who were extremely accommodating to all of us... and our children. The service was fast, and the food amazing. The place looks great and clean. We look forward to come againsoon. It felt like home. Read more
Simeon is outstanding. Extremely helpful and he gives you the feeling of being, well, important i guess. Atmosphere is great, I... almost felt bad for eating outside. Wife said the (very large) Philly Cheese Steak sandwich was the best she has had. All inall, extremely happy we happened upon this place. (we picked it because a friend shares the name Sophie). If only I could finda place like this up in Indiana. Read more
Meet friends for dinner tonight at Sophie's Grill & Bar. The server Dali was extremely friendly and helpful. He even offered to... move our table so that it wasn't directly in the sun, and adjusting it so that it was stable after. I had the Armenian Figs as astarter, the stuffed cabbage rolls, and the peach and apple crumble. All were excellent. I also got to try some of my friendsfood, the goulash was really good and the limoncello was divine. Definitely will be returning, and now curious about their otherlocation in Morrisville. Read more
The staff was very pleasant and friendly. We had the Armenian figs they were delicious. The Hungarian goulash was cooked well... slightly under seasoned. The ultimate lamb burger we ordered well done but it had to redone since it wasn’t cooked enough. Ittook a little while to get someone’s attention to fix this for us. Almost the entire time we were having dinner they weretrying to set up for some program. Maybe we were seated wrong but dinner was very awkward because they were trying to workaround us or come up with a different plan. The last thing we were not very pleased with was the automatic gratuity of 20% takenfor just two people having dinner. It is one thing if we were impressed choose to give 20% it is not appreciated when it istaken by force. I don’t think we will be returning here. Read more
