If you love pastries, you may be in trouble coming here. As soon as I walked in, my stomach was ambushed by coffee cakes and... artisan breads. I hadn't even reached the counter and my eyes were drooling for every little thing they had on display.Fortunately I was able to control myself until I noticed they had a deli towards the back of the bakery. Schat's has great breads and pastries. Just tried lunch there, tuna melt sandwich, and it was excellent too! This Schat's is... smaller than the others, finding a table might be difficult. There is outdoor seating. Unfortunately, there are plastic trayspiled up beside the tables that is not very attractive. Read more
Love this little place, but they really need to move somewhere bigger. It was jammed, people had to where to stand to wait in... line to order or wait for their food. That tends to make the employees a bit grumpy. BUT?.Our food was amazing. Had the applewalnut salad and it was really good. Also ordered the BLT and it was amazing. The bread was sooo good. They may need to makesure their staff is educated on the ingredients, as they could not tell us what type of nuts were in their cookies. Not aproblem for us as we do not have nut allergies, but could be for those who do. Read more
They have some good & some ok food. They don?t compare to the Schat?s in Bishop. Bishop is a much bigger store and baked goods... are much fresher and more variety. I tried an onion bagel. It didn?t really have the chew of a bagel and was more like a pieceof bread. I think they make good sandwiches. Read more
Walking into this place, I feel transported to a combination of childhood memories and heaven... The amazing scents of fresh... baked breads and desserts overwhelms your senses (in an amazing way!). There are so many choices... On this visit we opted forthe Apple Strudel Bread, holy moly there are so many apples in this thing it's more like eating pie!!! Apples were seasoned andcooked perfectly inside the bread, the bread to was cooked perfectly, not soggy at all which seems impossible with so much applefilling. They have a dine in deli as well, have not ordered from there yet but the meals looked amazing too!! Very helpful andnice employees! We will be back again and again! Read more

Decided to stop by the schats bakery and check out the bagels and pastries. The love and work of art they put in their cakes,... cookies, and pastries are gorgeous! Not only did I purchase many bagels of all different flavors, I decided to sit down and eatan apple walnut salad. It was so good it was my first time ever eating a salad with fruit on it. Because of this salad, I am nowobsessed! This place is awesome! Read more
