First time at this location.. Was greeted upon entrance, the gentleman was pleasant. Atmosphere was good they had that N.O music... playing not to loud but at a good tone. I ordered the pork chops (smothered) they are not fried!! They where super good alongwith yams and the green beans and of course we got a small seafood gumbo that came with potato salad!!!! And Kool Aid!! It was Thursday evening around 6pm 8/25/22 I ordered the Oxtail plate an he did advise me that they were beginningto run low an didn?t have much left! Which was understandable because it was late in the day I was just thankful they weren?tcompletely sold out so close to closing? I understand how soul food restaurant works, once it?s gone baby it?s gone lol so hedid explain how many they usually serve but that he had enough for maybe a half serving, which was fine with me it was my firsttime there an I saw the oxtails on TikTok and had to try them! Plus I?ve had sleeve surgery so IYKYK a huge serving isn?t neededfor me! And he discounted the purchase amount being considerate that I wouldn?t get a full order! Which was greatly appreciated!And the Oxtails didn?t disappoint! Baby when I say those oxtails were good! Hunty they were amazing tender seasoned lovethem! My husband ordered the Catfish plate? I have been to living out this way for a little over a year and normally go to Dallas to get all my soulfood fixes. That was the best decision I?ve ever made, I had the oxtails,Mac &cheese , yams, potato salad, and GUMBO. I swear thatgumbo is the truth!!! It reminded me of my grandmas gumbo I?ve never had restaurant gumbo that was actually delicious like that!! The oxtails were bomb as well I ate a bit of all my food and just sat there in aww! Wow, I?m so glad I found this on google. I see why the owner call it the right recipe, because she definitely has it! The... oxtails was soooo flavorful. I got my food 30 mins before it closed and the food was still amazing, warm and just all around A+!The portions are so big. I also got the rib plate too. Great great hospitality and customer service. I have never had red beans and rice before and it was incredible!! Also the fried chicken was delicious. They used boneless... thighs which made for an incredible eating experience.
