This place was great! I needed a last minute brunch spot for a friend's birthday. They not only were able to accommodate our... party of 4 but also had outdoor seating! The outdoor area is quite large with plenty of shaded coverage. Our waitress was havingquite the day but we're all entitled to have those moments. She handled each uncontrollable mishap with grace and never oneseemed angry. Rather, she laughed and joked it all off. She was as pleasant as could be and managed to get us our food veryquickly even in the face of unforeseen barriers. I think her name was Kim? Anyway, she was awesome! When the food arrived it wasquite the sight! The kids plate was HUGE, heck, all of the portions were huge. The real star of the show was the brioche frenchtoast though. It was a piece of artwork! There is a shaded patio with about 10 tables for outdoor dining, and an ample dining room. We ate outside. We were seated... immediately, and the service was attentive without being annoying. I had the soup of the day, which was a butternut squash andpotato. It was tasty, and it had the smoothest texture I have ever had in a soup. However, it had more of a cheesy potatoflavor and was missing the butternut squash. The grilled cheese had pillowy bread and was also tasty. Visited this Tandem restaurant with relatives to wrap up our North Carolina, USA trip. Atmosphere, server were great. Food... served in hot, which is very important. We ordered the 72 hours short ribs, and the curry salmon. The short ribs were nicelycooked, but too salty. The curry salmon tasted better than the short rib. My husband and I had a fabulous meal here with my in-laws on Saturday night. The patio seating is spaced out and well lit, with... scattered planters of fragrant basil. The appetizers were all wonderful, particularly the beet and cucumber salad, which wastangy and creamy and wonderfully blended. They use fruit in many of the dishes to surprising and spectacular effect. The entreesare all enormous portions, in the best way. I had the chicken, my MIL the lamb, and my husband and FIL the 72 hour short ribs.Service was fantastic. Incredibly recommended. Read more
Very nice spot for a Sunday brunch. Enjoyed a solid Bloody Mary to start. Both coffee and tea are served as an empty cup and... saucer with a small pot of coffee/hot water+assortment of teas. Our party ordered the Fried Chicken Benedict, Eggs Florentine,Mediterranean Omelette, and Moroccan Eggs Shakshouka (apologies for the pics of half eaten food! The presentation was originallyquite nice!). All of the dishes were good except for the Shakshouka which when we informed the restaurant the dish was too saltheavy, they kindly discounted the meal. The kale served with the fried chicken Benedict had a unique sweet and tangy flavor andthe smashed potatoes are a delicious unique take on breakfast potatoes.
