Absolutely amazing food. One of the best breakfasts I have ever had. Everything was homemade from the jelly, and Pico de Gallo,... to the home fries. Quality was top notch. Delicious Bloody Mary"s. The service was outstanding. Everyone was so helpful and wedid not have to wait for anything even on a busy Sunday morning. Would Absolutely recommend this place 110% Read more

Food and staff are great. So surprised and delighted to get mushroom, tomatoes, zucchini and half an avocado on my side salad. ... The salad was almost big enough to be a meal by itself. First time here and definitely coming back. Read more

I'm so sorry that I forgot to take pictures! I had an amazing tuna sandwich. My DH had the fish tacos, probably the best in... Carp. A grilled cheese and a bacon cheese burger on sourdough toast rounded out the lunch. The service was very good. Read more

Before I was plant-based I loved this place. Wonderful atmosphere and friendly and speedy service. None of that has... changed. But the vegan and plant-based menu items are lacking. There's so much food on this menu that it seems like there wouldbe room for more vegan options. Especially with all the options nowadays and the fact that Southern California is a hub forplant-based cuisine. Currently they have tofu tacos, a tofu scramble and tofu burrito. But. It is not scrambled tofu. They arecut in large chunks. Bigger than bite size. Bigger than a piece of meat. And grilled. I've eaten (and cooked) so many delicioustofu scrambles, I was hoping to see one here because I love this restaurant so much. I ordered the tofu burrito without cheeseonce I discovered the scramble was not actually scrambled (mashed) tofu. There were some surprisingly tasty veggies in theburrito: broccoli, zucchini, bean sprouts. I ordered it with avocado and it must not have gotten through because it did notarrive with avocado in it unfortunately. I also didn't see many of the hash browns but it said it came with. And it was soloosely wrapped that I had to use a fork and knife to eat it because it fell apart when I tried holding it. I was pleased tosee that they had various plant milks for my coffee which was awesome. And while I appreciate the attempt at more plant-basedfoods on the menu, unfortunately I was disappointed. I won't give up though and would go there again in hopes that the veganmenu items continue to grow. Read more

Easily my favorite breakfast and lunch spot in the world! The French toast is the best I?ve ever had as well as the hot links.... The wait staff is so kind and helpful. Esau?s is the best place to relax and enjoy a little slice of paradise (and four slicesof French toast). Read more

I had breakfast there some years ago and it was really good, but that was then. I took my wife for breakfast and oh boy, we were... really disappointed with the food, pancakes were almost burn, not soft at all, and the home fries overcooked, we ask for homefries with a little bit of onion and bell peppers, and what a surprise, I?m sorry to say, but it looked like someone vomited ontop of them. NOT going there again! Read more

This little cafe is so cute and I loved that the menu included a little history about the cafe. My husband and I came here for... breakfast and we definitely left with full stomachs as the portions are very generous. The flavors were excellent. Great servicealso. Read more

I have two rules for choosing a restaurant. Actually dozens, but only two that are applicable to this conversation. 1. Any place... that calls themselves World Famous is to be avoided; and 2. A good restaurant has both Crystal and Tabasco hot sauce on thetable (at least back south anyway). If they're really classy they'll have a bottle of pepper sauce too. Esau's Cafe brags thatthey are World Famous since 1939. They also have Tabasco, Tapatio, and Cholula on the table (good alternatives to Crystal on theLeft Coast) . These are contradictory signs and I wasn't sure what to think. I was greeted with huge portions of good, freshfood. The biscuit was gigantic. Their New Orleans Scramble wasn't bad (especially with Tabasco), and the home fries wereperfect. The Breakfast Burrito was devoured by my better half. Well, only half devoured. It was huge! The staff was veryfriendly. Service was a little slow, but it was packed and the waitresses appeared to be overworked. The place is pricey, butnot out of line for the area and location near the beach. Read more
