I feel like I found the greatest gem in Washington. Was glad to come on a quiet fall Saturday evening when the village was... closed. We truly felt lost in time. Roger was an amazing host and minstrel. The food and ale/cider was incredibly delicious. Iwas an English history major at UW 30 years ago so this is clearly my style, yet little did I know this incredible slice ofhistoric English countryside has been in my backyard for all of these years. It was a magical experience and I would recommendit to anyone looking for a wonderful, unique dining experience. Read more

This was such an amazing experience. Roger was our waiter, host, and entertainment and he too was amazing. I highly recommend... this place to everyone. The food was outstanding, the ambience and the music. Bors Hede deserves to be known to the world. Read more

Extremely impressed! This is the work of people who are extremely passionate about what they do - and I say this as someone who... grew up in Europe and was exposed to medieval stuff since I was a kid. We ate in on a Friday night, so the village wasclosed. The Bors Hede is an absolute gem, and the food served is absolutely delicious. A lot (but not all) of the recipes arefrom royalty/nobility "cookbooks" (cinnamon and sugar! Not for your 14th century peasant!), and it is _very_ tasty. The flavorsare unique. I did end up buying the cookbook - some of the combinations are extremely well done, and I really want to replicatesome of this at home! The minstrel is the cherry on top. Lots of research and passion - it was a delight to listen to the tunes.Such an authentic "medieval inn" experience. Will definitely be back soon! Read more

Delicious food and great entertainment. Could do without the screaming children though So please don't bring your tiny kids.... Especially if all you can do is give them a loud iPad. Read more

This was my second visit, and the experience was just as good on a busy event day, as on the off season. They serves a... vegetable stew with traditional bread, fruit and cheese. Which was super fun and delicious ???? Read more

Authenticity to the nines. - You don't get a menu, the keeper of the inn tells you what's available for the night. - They don't... have soda pop, they have a good variety of wines, ales, meads, and spiced grape juice if you prefer something non alcoholic. -You get a number of courses during the evening. The meat and cheese and fruit plate was my personal favorite. - The deserts arenot super sweat. They really cook from medieval recipes, sugar was a luxury. - The dinning room has a big open fireplace with afire going. - The tableware is either pewter or stoneware that I imagine is made in the village. - During dinner there was aminstrel who sang three songs. All of these things add up to a very authentic experience. If you're not ready to take a stepback in time and enjoy the excursion into the middle ages, maybe take a chance or take a pass. But if you are looking for a bitof fun and something other than the norm, be sure to visit. I will try to attend one of their feasts in the future, All Hallowsor Yule would be fun! Update: I got to participate in their Yule feast and it was fantastic. The food was wonderful, roastonion, pears and cheese, sauced pork, almond fritters, meat pies, I'm salivating now just thinking of it all. You get a lot offood over the course of 2 hours and they had a jester and minstrels for entertainment. It's a great way to sample many dishesand enjoy a meal with friends, family, or go solo and take it all in! Read more

Easily in my top 3 meals I've ever had in my life. Food is amazing and I love the dedication to the authenticity of the entire... experience. I cannot wait to go again and again and again. Prices are beyond incredibly reasonable given the experience. It'snow been 2 days since I ate there, and I have lost count how many times I've thought about that meal. ???? Read more

A experience not to be missed; the food and drink options were extremely tasty, sounded authentic, and definitely different... from everyday, 21st century fare; the periodic atmosphere even included tin cups; And the friendly proprietor providedentertainment during the meal in the form of song and riddle.
