Went with my family while visiting my daughter that lives in Carmi. My daughter, son in law and grandson all love Mr.... Jalapeño!!! We went last year before the remodel. The remodel looks great and modern. While there was a lot of us in ourparty, we were quickly seated and waited on. We received our food in a timely manner. The food was delicious!!! Read more
The food is well enough, but they don't let you customize an order. Whatever is on the menu is what you get.
Our food was good! They had a lot of different options on the menu. The service was poor. The workers walking around just looked... mad and unhappy. The older lady waiting on us rudely dropped the plate in front of my daughter when serving her food. The ladywould not upgrade shredded chicken to grilled chicken when we offered to pay an upcharge. She spoke to us rudely like we werebothering her when we were ordering our food. We chose to eat at this Mexican restaurant instead of another one. We expect kindservice and friendliness. My husband needed a refill but didn't want to ask because he didn't want to deal with her attitude. She didn't ever ask us if we needed anything or if everything was ok. Read more

if i could leave a review of 0/5 stars.. i would. the two waitresses from the grayville location were at the carmi location... tonight. they did not once come check on their tables, other than to take orders and bring out food. by the time our food got tothe table, my drink and my sisters was empty, the chip bowl was empty and the waitress did not even ask to fill any of it. shedid not even come and ask us if everything was good or if we needed anything. as we were waiting to get our check for what itseemed like over 10 minutes, our waitress was sitting at the bar and talking to the other one. very disappointed in the servicewe received tonight. I give 4 stars with some reservation. My wife and I ordered: Choose your own combo. You can order two or three Entrees, we... ordered three and split it. We ordered two burritos and an enchilada. But before we did that we ordered an appetizer, it was aJalisco, not positive on the spelling, but it is a bowl of cheese and meat and peppers to dip your chips in, my oh my, it wasalmost a meal in itself, it was wonderful. The burritos, however, were just basically hamburger wrapped in a tortilla shell, thehamburger did not even taste like it had been seasoned. And I mean it was just ground beef, no cheese, or sauce, nothing but alittle bit of sprinkles of cheese on top of the burrito and that was it, hence, the 4 stars with some reservation. Ourwaitress was friendly enough and took our order promptly, but we didn't see her again until she brought us the bill. But wedidn't need anything so that was fine. It's basically the same family that runs the Guadalajara in Grayville, Il. They're goodpeople, I just wish they'd put more than just beef in their burritos. Read more
