My husband & I started dining here when we moved to Carmel a year before the pandemic hit. Born & raised in the BX, started... cooking Italian food at age 9. I've been cooking 59 yrs. I rarely eat Italian food outside my home, because I'm quitecritical, & rarely find a meal that comes close to my own cooking. However, there are times I prefer to take a break from mystove. During the beginning of Covid as seniors my husband & I self quarantined. We ordered curbside pickup from Luigi's. Wedid our best to support local businesses during this challenging time. So to show appreciation to our own Frontline Workers, & essential workers, we ordered meals & gift cards from Luigi's. Luigi, his son Tony, his delivery driver, a matter of facthis entire staff go above & beyond to serve our community. Food is wonderful, portions generous, and priced reasonably. Onoccasion we request delivery, which is always on time. This evening we had eggplant rollatini, and zuppa di pesce overlinguini. Abundant amount of seafood. Sauce ..WOW! His eggplant is better than mine. (Shhh)!! A beautiful salad comes withdinner, & balsamic dressing is perfect. Tonight we passed on desert. However, deserts are worth every calorie. One word forhis food....stupefacente!!! We just came back from the Cape where we ordered Italian dinner from a 5 star restaurant. Ratersmust have dead taste buds. I had to throw eggplant out. Even though my husband & I are fully vaccinated we haven't dined outyet. So we are VERY grateful for Luigi's dining options. Read more

The food is authentic and amazing! The menu is extensive (extreme care goes into each and every meal from seasoning to fresh... ingredients) and Luigi, his family and staff are extremely friendly and personable. My wife and I have ordered many meals andour favorites, including the wood fired pizza, are the Burata and Eggplant Della Nonna appetizers, the Chicken Toscana, ChickenAristocrat and the Chicken Sorrentino entrees. Amazing!! Came here from Michigan with my sister and decided to try something new. All the food came fast. Their calamari is... really crispy and nicely fried. Also, their Penne Alla Vodka tastes delicious! Perfect taste. Their wood fire oven pizza meltsin your mouth and the cheese is very stretchy. The customer service was fantastic! The service and friendliness of the staff was simply outstanding. Our young daughter commented about how the owner?Luigi... himself?was making everyone feel welcome and making them laugh. What?s more, everything we ordered was delicious: ,Mediterranean salad, mozzarella sticks, cheese pizza, penne alla vodka and lasagna, Pinot noir. Oh and don?t forget the CrèmeCarame cake. W O W. Where to begin... This local restaurant, named for the host Luigi, is one of the best parts of a holiday weekend spent in the... area. We were welcomed, fed, entertained, and made to feel part of a place that smelled like home on a Sunday afternoon.
