Benedict Florentine hollandaise sauce was nearly broke and the poached eggs were overcooked (yolks nearly completely solid) BUTwe arrived near the end of the day and the flavors were on point, so we will certainly return on a regular basis. My wife and I went here on a whim and totally loved it. We sat outside and were quite comfortable in the shaded portion with... very large fans overhead providing a pleasant breeze. The food and service was excellent and our server was very conscientiousof our tight schedule for our lunch break. I would encourage anyone to try this place out. Read more
Breakfast was great! Ordered the combo 5, with eggs, hash browns and biscuits and gravy. We added toast and bacon to it. Hash... browns were cooked perfectly, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. They added onions and mushrooms to put scrambledeggs per request and they were done well also. The bread, biscuits and strawberry jelly are all homemade and are reallygood! Wait staff was super friendly and we spoke with one of the owners who was also very friendly. Everything is spotless,even the bathrooms. They are also one of the only breakfast place that are open at 6am on Sundays, which is a bonus. If youwant to miss the crowd, come early! Friendly service by Kathy and great assistance with figuring out the Low Fodmap options. A couple of ingredient pictures and... some info from the manager and we were ready to order. I came in curious, and I left IMPRESSED! This location was always so busy with the previous restaurant. They were often on a... wait. I have no doubt that Uptown Cafe will be in that same spot soon! The menu choices were good with some traditionalchoices and some new options that were different. I had the Cajun Cranberry Salad and my friends had the Philly Steak with anorder of breadsticks. The food came out quickly and was delicious!! The breadsticks were a surprise to me. They wereperfectly prepared with a crisp outer crust and a soft tender inside. The salad I had was Amazing! They use a homemadedressing that was light but full of flavor. The combination of chicken with the salad ingredients was delicious, and I leftwishing I had ordered two salads. It was that good! Our server, Susanne S, was flawless in her menu knowledge. She also hadthat extra energy that makes you feel seen, heard, and cared about. It doesn't work when people fake it, but when it's genuine,it's a great addition to the dining experience when it happens. Wonderful cozy diner with delicious options for all appetites. Breakfast, brunch, lunch, soups, salads, and some great comfort... food. The Turkey Sandwich was spectacular, and I don't think you can really go wrong with your options. Great selection of teasand coffee, and an overall comfortable setting. The booths are great, and when the weather is proper the outdoor seating has anice layout. Can't wait to come back and check out some other options on the menu. The food here is perfectly edible. If you?re looking for simple breakfast classics, they you?ll be happy. -1.5 stars because... the corned beef hash uses chopped up lunch meat vrs a brisket style corned beef cut, and the poached eggs were not ? poached. More of a sunny side up version of poached (like when they?re made in a poaching pan or device rather than the traditionalway) -.5 stars because the service was a little curt. Read more
