Reviews for Vesuvio Restaurant in Carmel-By-The-Sea, CA
We really enjoyed this place. The service was great and the food was great. Gets a little noisy but that would be the only... downfall. We had the garlic bread and the burrata and pepper caprese to start, I?d get both again. We also got the crab ravioliand a Margherita pizza, they were both delicious. The pizza had a great crust, crispy on the bottom but still soft around theedge and a great sauce. The crab ravioli was made with fresh pasta dough and lots of crab on the inside and a very deliciouslobster reduction sauce. Finally the tiramisu was very nice and worth trying. Great service and great food, you won?t bedisappointed here Read more
UPDATE 7.23.22: My wife and I decided to enjoy a "proper" meal at Vesuvio's during our latest stay in Carmel. We made... reservations the day before and when we arrived for our reservation, we were warmly greeted and seated quickly. I noticedthroughout our meal that there was a long line of folks waiting to be seated, so it's probably a good idea to make reservationsto avoid a long wait. We started off with a glass each of Vesuvio's branded wine, the Pepe Vesuvio. And as we really enjoyedthe Truffled Gnocchi appetizer during our previous visit to their Starlight Rooftop Terrace Lounge, we had to order this delightagain. We also added an order of 4 Meatball Lollipops; this dish is basically Vesuvio's meatballs on a skewer in marinara. Boththe gnocchi and meatballs were delicious. My wife ordered the Pacific Northwest Salmon which the waiter had mentioned was caughtlocally. The salmon came with couscous and grilled asparagus and had a lovely lemon-caper sauce. I had a nibble and it wastender and flavorful. I ordered the Sgt. Pepe's 1944 meat lasagna which is a family recipe. It was a nicely-sized chunk oflasagna, a la carte. It was "heavy" as I expected but very good. It was large enough that I only at about half and saved therest for later. Finally, we ordered and shared a Creme Brulee. Just a lovely visit with good service. Prices are moderate. Wesat up top on the open-air deck for appetizers and wine. It was quite a lively scene for a Monday night. The upper deck has anumber of firepits and heaters to keep everyone warm. We enjoyed a glass of house Cab each and ordered a couple of appetizers:Truffled Gnocchi and Calamari Fritti. The Gnocchi was baked in a flavorful sauce with truffle oil and parmigiano. The calamariconsisted of tubes and tentacles and came with flavorful chipotle aioli dip. My wife ordered the crab bisque soup which we alsoshared. Service was a bit spotty but the food was excellent. Read more

We had a great time at the rooftop bar during the happy hour. The cocktails were well balanced and strong and the pizza and... burgers were both delicious. The only downside was that our food took a very long time but the wait staff was very nice and didtheir best to remedy the issue. I would definitely go again for happy hour! Read more
Went for my one year anniversary because we'd eaten there on our honeymoon. The place was as great as I remembered. We sat on... the rooftop lounge, it was a little windy but where isn't in carmel. Drinks were great , they even made one that wasn't on themenu when I asked. The food was amazing. The servers were on the ball. And my wife suprised me by having them play our weddingsong so we could dance. I'd recommend this place to any and everyone. Read more
Delicious food and great atmosphere. There was a long wait outside, but we are glad we checked in because that was for the... upstairs rooftop patio. Without a reservation they still sat us right away inside. We were lucky to get a little high top tablenext to the fireplace and it was perfect. Enjoyed appetizers and wine. The food was 10/10!!! Husband and I shared the TruffleGnocchi, I had the Fried Artichoke Arancini and husband had Spare Ribs. Would definitely go back again when back in the area. Read more
Great good! Walked in without a reservation and was able to get a table. They have upstairs and downstairs seating - upstairs is... open and and toasty. The servers and runners were efficient, but service was slow (probably due to staffing or how packed itwas). Everything was tasty, including the eggplant parmigiana, which I normally don't like at other places. Considering thearea, pricing was decent as well. Would definitely visit again! Read more
Amazing Italian food! Same menu as Little Napoli. Service was great to start but then teetered off as they got busy. Took about... 45 minutes to get the check and also asked for a drink that never came. The tables on both sided never even got to order drinks. Read more
