Reviews for Siam Queen by Cholada Thai (New Management) in Carlsbad, CA
Everything here was top notch. The Pad Thai was soft and deeply flavorful, the pineapple fried rice was so delicious, and don't... forget the Dessert combo which sent everyone home completely in nirvana. Read more
Pretty expensive for low quality food. Had the ribs and lemongrass chicken. Both were cooked days prior and left in sauce. It... made it dry and oily. The tea was nice but won?t be coming back. Read more

Incredible value on this neiborhood Thai restaurant. True and authentic Thai cuisine at the right price, and the servings are... very generous. I'd go to get a great family dinner. Servers were super friendly and the place was quiet and comfortable. Read more
The food looked ok but all in all was poorly executed. It had little flavor, super oily I could really taste the oil in the... food, and really bland. I was really rooting for this place to be a little bit more decent since it is located in a really nicetransition spot but it is a no go for me from now on. And the salad is definitely a miss for me, that dressing was unpleasantand the lettuce was wilted even tho it appears to be firm. Read more
Let's me summarize this amazing place with a few key points. 1. Great for dine in experience; the inside of this place is... elegant, clean, and has good fung shui. It feels very nice sitting in there. 2. Reasonable prices; we got the works, two mainentrees, appetizer, Thai teas, dessert and it was only $62. If you're looking for something simpler without dessert andappetizer, you're probably looking at around $40 bucks for two people. 3. Super delicious food; the coconut curry wasscrumptous and creamy, the veggies an amazing blend of bamboo shoots with baby corn and other veggies. The eggplant basil meltsin your mouth and the basil just adds a smooth herb-y flavor that sends you to a blissful realm. Veggie tempura, wow. That plumsauce was amazing. Everything we had was amazing....gosh. 4. Super vegetarian friendly; I can't tell you how hard it is to findgood places that offer a variety of things to try when you're vegetarian. Thai places usually don't disappoint. But the waitresstold us she could make pretty much anything vegetarian friendly. You know how much that means to me??? There's plenty ofnon-vegetarian foods also for those who eat meat of course. I used to do the shrimp curries and Thai restaurants...mmmm. 5.Super friendly service; our waitress whose name was Nok was so nice, sweet, friendly, and all around good vibes type of person. The type you want to be around to feel good and be happy (not like that one depressing friend of yours....ew). 6. A hidden gem;literally, its behind a Shell gas station and you wouldn't know its there without driving behind it. They have a huge parkinglot so don't be afraid of driving on over for the dine in. 7. Come support a 71 year old cook. Nok shared that the cook hasbeen working there for 21 years. Made me feel like my grama made the food for me. Such a home-y feeling. All in all, I'll becoming back here....again and again. I'll definitely be bringing my friends here. And you should too. A++++ Read more

The place is the definition of a hole in the wall Gem. It's a little place hidden away out of sight across the street from a... gas station. The Mexican place seems to be more visible. Well, after navigating the weird parking, you must walk through a smallold door, up some stairs where you reach the door to this place. It's very quaint, has a really nice atmosphere. I believe Iwas there on a Friday or Saturday night and the place was empty. I was seated and order was taken. Our water refilled frequentlytoo. We ordered Padseew and Thai tofu curry. The Padseew didn't have too much flavor so I had to add some soy sauce. The realstar was the curry. It was so good! Tasted alot like Tom Kha, coconut. But the food was delicious. Had to finish it all then andthere. I hope it was a rare slow night. I would not like this place to go. Read more
