Reviews for Shorehouse Kitchen Carlsbad in Carlsbad, CA
I am updating my review because, we'll, this place is really good. Good food, good service, good ambiance. You really can't... ask for more. From January 2022: Good value menu. Bar was a bit slammed when we went on a Sunday for brunch and only half ifour party if six got their drink orders but the House comped the three that we did get. Coffee wasn't great even though I knowthe coffee company does good work. One odd thing, though, I ordered turkey sausages (very good) but they had no steak saucewhen I asked. I always have steak sauce on my sausage. Not a biggy but thought I'd mention it. Otherwise, a very enjoyableexperience; I will definitely visit again. Read more
Shore house Kitchen is our favorite restaurant in Carlsbad. The cozy, farmhouse decor and indoor and outdoor seating is... heartwarming and relaxing. The staff are friendly with prompt customer service. Our breakfast was delicious. A bagel withsalmon and avocado ???? was an amazing combination. The hash brown were perfectly cooked, crispy, thin slices and absolutelydelicious. The best we ever ate! ???? Relax and enjoy the storehouse kitchen with friends and family. See you there ! Read more

We visited shore house kitchen to meet up with some family for a brunch. We had a party of 9 and were quoted with a time of 25... minutes of a weight which is not bad for a huge party like us on a Sunday morning. What's it up to me the most was the selectionon their menu I love the different choices you have and the they have good service to compliment. I had there bloody Mary whichwas a great start it wasn't too spicy and a bit sweet but hit the spot. The mimosa was a great choice as well I tried that fromthe wifey. We were also very hungry so I missed out on a couple pictures but I got a good picture of my short rib hash with myown little touch of ketchup and on sauce on top. As far as the food goes the breakfast potatoes were very good the hash Brownswere super crispy and the food and the food was pretty good as well. The only thing I wish they did on my hash dish was seer theshort rib a bit to give it a crunchiness. I personally thought it needed a bit more seasoning but I do have a salty pollenmyself so a bit of black pepper and salt did pretty well for me. The others at the table ordered the hot honey chicken sandwichand the chilequilles, These dishes came highly recommended by them and when I tried them were very good as well. Not to mentionthe restaurants located in a spot that's nice to stroll around in the Carlsbad. Great Spot! Read more
We had a great breakfast on 6/12/22, at Shorehouse Kitchen's Carlsbad location. It was a rocky start here, I must admit, as my... wife & I had to wait nearly 10 min., to be greeted & seated. We got here around 7:40am, after they'd just opened, at 7:30. Aswe walked up, I noticed this place looked understaffed, with only 2 servers frantically taking orders & delivering coffees toguests sitting at tables on their large outdoor patio. After we were seated, things got a whole lot better! Staffing improvedsignificantly, & I got my regular coffee & blueberry scone. All was once again right with the world! Their coffee was hot &rich tasting. My scone was just a touch dry, but still good, loaded with blueberries, and sprinkled with sugar crystals ontop My wife ordered the Vanilla Bean Tahitian French Toast, plus added Bananas. This came with Chantilly Cream. She loved it! Thick french toast was coated in a light fluffy egg batter, and griddled to perfection. The Chantilly Cream & bananas took itto another level of delish! I had the Monterey Omelette, a fluffy omelette, with sliced Poblano Peppers, tasty bacon, sauteedspinach & a healthy bit of white cheddar cheese, adding the ooey gooey factor. It was an excellent-tasting omelette, & theO'brien Potatoes were sliced in large chunks- golden brown outside, hot & tender inside. I asked for strawberry jam, & ourserver brought me a mini Bonne Maman strawberry jam jar. This is such an upgrade from what you'd normally get at a regularbreakfast restaurant. We ate on the patio, which had fiberglass panels overhead, to provide shade, plus we had a nice view ofthe palm trees & landscaping, which added beauty, to what would've otherwise been just a drab parking lot. Great food, niceambience, & just a touch slow service, at Shorehouse Kitchen, Carlsbad Read more
Bustling brunch hotspot in the heart of the Carlsbad Village. The patio is huge, but then wait can be as well! Be sure to join... the Yelp wait list before arriving, especially after 930 am on weekends. It's all worth it though. The menu is huge, everyoneliked their food, and they have many different coffees, coffee cocktails, and mimosas to choose from. Highlyrecommended! Street parking is your best bet, unless you're lucky and there's a spot in the lot right next to the restaurant. Read more
Quick Summary Not sure about all the rave reviews. Food was very mediocre; service was decent and the ambiance was nice. The... only redeeming dish was the french toast Food- 2 stars Crispy parmesan Risotto and honey cured bacon eggs benedict- this wasjust ok. It was pretty dry and lacked much of any flavor Angus short rib and hash brown potato cakes- I was excited to try theshort rib due to the rave reviews. However, I was most disappointed by this dish. The short rib was incredibly dry and not verytender. Hash browns were good though Caramelized Tahitian Vanilla Bean French Toast- this was pretty good. The only dish Iliked Salmon, shaved fennel and burrata salad- I was sad that this was basically a cafeteria dish. The romaine lettuce was verysad and old. Rest of the dish was very dry as well Service- 4 stars Decent service. Took a bit longer to get our food anddrinks. It's nice that you can be added onto the waitlist on the Yelp app, but still waited 25 minutes after checkingin Ambiance- 5 stars Pretty cool area if you're indoors or in the patio seating (would avoid the bench seating in the pack). The tables can be a bit packed, but it's a cool beach brunch area Bottom Line Good service and ambiance, but very disappointedby the food. Not sure why this place is rated 4.5 stars Read more
LOVED Shorehouse!!! Low key diamond in the rough. The waiter we had was so nice and helpful. He gave us food recommendations and... explained what was popular. I had the crispy Risotto eggs Benedict. The dish was so good the risotto was perfectly cookedperfectly, well balanced in flavor. The risotto had just the right amount of crispyness, this was an interesting take on boththe risotto and Benedict. The Benedict was cooked so well with the yolk oozy and warm. Must try dish. The bloody mary was madeto perfection with just the right amount of spice. The tables, dining area and the bathrooms were very clean. This is for sure ahidden gem and one that deserves a try. The place was crowded but the staff still managed to manage the crowd with a smile andwith no delays in service. I will be going back many times over!!! Read more
