I took my sister here the other week for her birthday. The night started off great because I was excited that they had Rombauer... zin and we developed some good rapport with our server. The food was good, especially the Gorgonzola flatbread, but the death bychocolate dessert was more of a peanut butter pie. But the bartender sent our server home and took over his tables. The servicewent down after the switch. After we finished dinner, we were still enjoying our wine and he offered us dessert. He then askedif we wanted more water because our carafe was empty (this was also at the tail end of that crazy heat wave), we said yesplease. Dessert was delivered, our dinner plates were still there. We ate about half of the dessert, we see him doing checkbacks with other tables except for us, and another 20 minutes goes by and still no water or check back. Eventually my sister hadto flag him down for the water and check. I?ve been here a few times before and had a decent time, but this time unfortunatelymade me feel unwanted and likely won?t be back. This is a pretty nice place. Couldn?t fault anything really, good and drinks were above par. I have tried a few restaurants... around state st , but keep coming back to Oak Elixir. The cocktails were fab. I tried the ?chili margarita?. Apprehensive atfirst, but it was flavorful and quite unique. They have outdoor and indoor dining aswell. Would recommend Reservations onweekend. I liked my a whiskey sour, and the artichoke crostini was good. The chicken liver crostinis were tasty but the pate was a bit... hard for some reason. Peach Burrata salad and Short Rib were great. Raviolis were so so though. Read more
I LOVE this place and the staff. I was planning to have my wedding reception here in 2020 and then COVID hit. The team was... fantastic all along the way as we tried to reschedule. I was finally able to hold a smaller reception dinner with family herethis summer. Not only was the room absolutely stunning but the food was delicious! I live out of state but Oak + Elixir willforever be on my list of places to stop when I am in town. Highly recommend! Great spot for a quick bite with friends or to holdan event. Read more
Meat and cheese combo charcuterie was great! Service was very accommodating. Only slight downer was the pear and spinach salad... which was kind of plain and overpriced. Read more
My wife and I went to OAK + Elixir last night and had a wonderful evening. Our server Becca is one of the owners and she made... our experience simply delightful. Becca allowed us to sample several different wines before we decided on one bottle. We orderedthe bacon wrapped dates as an appetizer and had the Jalapeno and Hobb's bacon flat bread as our entree. Our wine was great, thefood was terrific and I completely recommend visiting this super fun establishment! Read more
Everything was excellent, although I believe they should find a way to let the customers know the vibe of the place because when... you get there, usually there's no host. This place is like a fancy bar (not cheap, not overly priced) where you order deliciousand excellent appts and drinks at the bar and then you take a table. Great option for getting together with friends or casual(meaning not romantic) date nights. Read more
Rushed us through Dinner brought out the appetizers and the entrees at same time? then took the entrees back so we could enjoy... the appetizers but brought us cold entrees 5-7 minutes later? it may have been good but it was so cold? disappointing for sureas it was my birthday dinner and I was hoping for a long leisurely dinner and we we?re done in less than an hour.
