No one goes into a Michelin starred restaurant with low expectations, but Jeune et Jolie managed to exceed ours anyway. Our... server Nate was enthusiastic, friendly, and gave phenomenal descriptions of the menu items. He made us feel welcomed and specialthe entire time. We were celebrating a birthday, and the team went out of their way to recognize it, both verbally, and with acard and champagne. The support staff was also excellent, paying attention to all the details. My husband was practicallychugging water after spending the day in the sun, but somehow, his glass was never once empty. Of course, all of the food wasphenomenal. There wasn't a bad item on the menu - everything was meticulously placed for both aesthetic and flavorfulperfection. I even tried some foods I don't typically enjoy like oysters and tomatoes, and each one turned out to be greatchoices. Several of the menu items were seasonally themed and sounded like they were added recently, so I'd imagine if youreturned regularly, there would always be something new to try. And the extra mini-courses that were brought between our choiceswere great surprises and a very nice touch! Finally, we really appreciated that every member of the team seemed to genuinelyenjoy their job. You could see into the open kitchen, where everyone waa clearly keeping busy and doing their best. Easily the best dining experience I've had in San Diego. While the food and drink was wonderful the true standout was the... immaculate service of the staff. I really enjoyed our commis de débarrasseur I forget his name but he did an amazing job,extremely professional and a highlight of the meal. Each dish was described in great detail which was really fun. I was alittle hesitant to get the wine pairing but it was well worth it! The sommelier was very passionate about the picks and gave alittle lesson on each which was really fun. The food itself was surprisingly filling all kinds of wonderful flavors andtextures. I believe it was 7 dishes in total. One member of our party requested gluten free options and they had greataccommodations. Congrats on the Michelin star! I completely understand why Jeune et Jolie was awarded a Michelin star. We went on a Sunday evening and enjoyed a selection of a... la carte menu items at the bar and savored every delicious bite. The cocktail menu is creative and sophisticated. Service wasexcellent and the space is gorgeous. While the price will make it a splurge option for many it is well worth it--a trulyextraordinary culinary experience. We can't wait to go back. Read more
I was super excited to try this restaurant especially after hearing they were awarded a Michelin star. The parking was easy... since there's a large lot right behind the restaurant. For the menu, you chose from 3 or 4 options for each course of 4 courses.Everything I tried was excellent. We also started with some oysters, my favorite. The cocktails were also very tasty, try thefraise. The cheese course for dessert was interesting and delicious. We sat inside near the kitchen which was really fun towatch. Highly recommend! Amazing. By far the best restaurant I?ve been to in San Diego. The meal was 4 courses with surprises in between. I felt ... satisfied and $90 a person is a very fair price for what we enjoyed! The dishes were some of the most beautiful I?ve seen in mylife. My favorite part was the sticky rice mango and basil dessert. Our server (whose name I?m forgetting) had moved here fromJapan to take this job. He was intelligent and professional, offering helpful wine suggestions and explaining the menu well! I took my boyfriend last night to celebrate his birthday and our anniversary. We enjoyed one of the best meals we?ve ever... had. The decor is beautiful, the staff are genuinely friendly and helpful, and the food was just incredible. Each first bite wetook caused us to drop our heads and mutter over how delicious it was. The dishes were gorgeous and well portioned. The tomateand the halibut dishes were melt in your mouth! A 4 course meal (technically 7 courses!) like this I would expect at least twicethe price! The added touches like signed birthday and anniversary cards, as well as champagne toast starters, really made thisa special evening. Great experience at Jeune et Jolie. Food was delicious and as a Michelin star restaurant the pricing for a 4-course meal was... very reasonable. Our party sat outside for a Nov nighttime and it didn't feel too cold or uncomfortable because the restaurantprovided an ample amount of heat lamps. Read more
