Well how should I start, I have been at Ben's alot but this time I was there on a weekend and to my surprise it was a bad idea.... I love too have a pastrami on rye and the fries and onion rings that go with it makes my day, and a black cherry soda doesn'thurt either. For the first time I got to go out for dinner on Sunday and I made the mistake of going to Ben's. So I got mypastrami sandwich and guess what NO FRIES OR ONION RINGS what was the problem I asked the reply was on weekends it's just thesandwich during the week it's a lunch special both the same price seems to me like a rip off on weekends to me. l hope theychange this policy soon and then I will be back but for now I out of there. Meh. I think Ben lost his seasonings. Grandma?s Soup with Matzoh Ball lacked flavor. Potato Pancake was hard, flavorless and... greasy. 2 stars because it?s better than I can get at home. But then we don?t have a Kosher Deli in Southwest FL. Read more

I am planning on dining out at Bens on Monday with my family after my uncles funeral services. My son has severe food allergies.... When I called for allergen information, I spoke to Ian, the assistant manager. He was SO helpful. He personally called the breadmanufacturer to see what was safe for my child and got back to me with the information. He wasn?t rushing me, he talked to meuntil all my questions were answered and I felt at ease eating there with my allergic son. He said if it made me feel better, hewould personally make my sons food. Being a food allergy mom, it?s not often I speak to people in the restaurant industry whoare so helpful and understanding. Ian is awesome, I wish more people in the industry were like him. I?m looking forward toeating at Bens and will update with our experience. My family and I went there Sunday evening for dinner and everything was excellent. I had a Turkey Sandwich, which was very... good. My mother had chicken soup but, not chicken Noodle, it was a thick soup which tasted very good. My niece had a chickenwrap sandwich, my brother and nephew had an open face turkey dinner with mashed potatoes and gravy, which they loved and mysister in law also had a turkey sandwich. Ben's has been around for years. The Pastrami I ordered was good, just a little dry, as was the rye bread it was served on.... Liked the plate of Cole sale and pickes as which complimented this traditional meal. Wait staff was very nice. Read more
