Don't go alone if you want hibachi. I work on the road and was thrilled to find a hibachi place... Walk in and told that I... cannot get hibachi dining alone, they have a minimum requirement of two persons I have been to hibachi restaurants in multiplestates and have NEVER been turned away because I was alone. I called and spoke with the manager who told me that it is common tonot "open" a table for just one person. Open a table? Hibachi restaurants have multiple chefs that rotate to the tables as theyare filled or after a certain time. She seemed shocked that I have been the only person at a hibachi table before. Sometimes ithappens, but I have never been turned away from it because I was dining alone. No wonder they have so many tables and only onewas being used. Bad business practices and bad customer service lead to empty tables. Read more

I can't say enough good about Tokyo Japan of Carencro. I'm a regular here and grab a pick up order at least once a week. The... sushi rolls are delicious, reasonably priced and portioned, and always consistent. Everyone I talk to there is super friendlyand ensures I have a good experience. First off, shout out to our Hibachi Chef Adam. He made this night one of the best! Took my best friend here for his birthday,... and all I can say is WOW! We ate on the restaurant side, not the Hibachi side. The menu had a wide variety of sushi to choose from but very little... selection of non-sushi dishes that weren't Hibachi grilled. I chose the chicken soba noodles ($10) and it was delicious. Since Iam not a fan of raw sushi, we chose the UL roll ($15). It was delicious as well. My husband chose grilled Hibachi tuna ($23),but because he had discussed the salmon with the waitress, she mistakenly brought the salmon. (honest mistake) The salmon wascooked medium and the portion was ok.
