The staff were friendly and the shop was cute but the food was super disappointing. We got a loaf of white bread, cupcakes,... chocolate croissants, and doughnuts. Everything was super dense and had very little flavor. I made a sandwich with the bread andended up throwing it out because the bread was so dense and flavorless that it felt like I was eating a sponge. I'm fromMonterey and I will definitely stick to the gluten-free places around here because they are so much better. Read more

I was so excited to find a gluten free bakery with vegan options until I paid almost $40 to only end up throwing away every... single item because it was inedible. I was blown away at how hard every pastry was that I had chose. Not to mention little bugsflying around inside the area in which all items were kept. I think they get the bad reviews removed because there is no waypeople are accepting rock hard pastries. Save your money, so sad and disappointing. Read more

Melinda's baked a few vegan and gluten free pies for my wedding - definitely the best local place to get them. They were... flexible about pickup, and worked with me so that I could pick the flavors I wanted. Delicious! Read more

I have been gluten free for 12 years. Being first time here I spent $50 to try the cinnamon roll, donuts, danishes. monkey... bread, puff pastry, etc. Besides the chocolate donut, the items tasted doughy or undercooked. Not how flaky dough should tastelike. The staff is friendly but service is really slow. Nothing is labeled. The counter staff literally have to tell everycustomer what each item is and how much it every single time. Not sure I'll be back even though we are in San Jose and frequentSC. Read more

I can?t say enough about this gem near the coast .. My absolute favorite Gluten-Free bakery with Vegan options as well. They... have limited hours and are popular, so go early to ensure you get your pick of all the sweet and savory treats! The mapledoughnut and ham and cheese croissant are a must! These folks work so hard-tip them well!!! Read more

Having Melinda right here locally has been such a wonderful thing. My wife as well as several of our wedding guests have dietary... restrictions that we were wanting to be mindful of for our wedding day. We chose Melinda to bake our cake because she is verydietary conscious and is able to adjust her ingredients to meet various needs. What we needed was a diary free and gluten freecake. We stopped by the bakery several times to chat with Melinda and she offered us samples on more than one occasion before wefinally chose our chocolate caramel cake with vanilla buttercream. Her cakes are delicious and she is always available to chatand answer any questions that we had. She also delivered our cake to our venue all the way in San Juan Bautista and set it upfor us. If you are in need of a baker who can meet dietary needs, is highly professional, and makes a scrumptious cake then lookno further than working with Melinda! Read more

I?m not sure why it took me this long to find Melinda's. Even though I changed to gluten free not long ago (to improve some... health issues), I love bakeries of all sorts and I'm always open to trying new and different flavors, so I was delighted to findthis gem. Not only the bakery is super cute but their goodies are delicious. Not the weird, pale, and often soggy gluten freestuff you find around. I tried their croissants (ham & cheese, chocolate, plain), monkey bread and havarti/Turkey pastrysandwich. Everything was yummy. I got there a little after noon and a lot of things were sold out, which shows how people liketheir pastries. I will certainly come earlier next time because there's plenty of things I want to try. I'm more of a savory galbut I will try the sweet stuff too. Service was super friendly and patient. It was my first time there so I was asking a lot ofquestions and they were amazing telling me about all the options. I super happy to have found Melinda's since it turned out tobe pretty challenging to find yummy gluten free baked items in the area. I'm sure I will become a regular. Read more
