I only gave 4 stars for the food because it's not really what I'm used to eating as far as Chinese. I am from the north and... have searched for a Detroit style Chinese restaurant that serves almond chicken and also egg rolls made with beansprouts insteadof cabbage. The food was good and the chef made it just like I asked. Read more

First of all, I live right behind the Orient, so I eat there almost every week. I've never had a dish that I did not enjoy. All... of the wait staff friendly and sometimes chatty (in a good way). I'll definitely go back, possibly tomorrow! Update: I couldn'tpossibly know how true this is, but I was new to the area when I first posted this and have since heard from many people thatwork in an adjacent establishment in the same building that The Orient has major cleanliness (and therefore, roach) problem. Ihaven't eaten there in almost a year. Read more

After hearing a good review on Facebook we decided to place an order. Chicken chow mein, sesame chicken, sweet and sour chicken... all with fried rice and egg rolls. After delivery from GrubHub it was over $60. Their price was 41 approximately. The sweet andsour was not sweet or sour it was just like a thick barbecue type sauce and the chicken was very tough, the chicken chow meinhad sliced mushrooms in it and everything tasted burnt. The sesame chicken was tough dry and the fried rice tasted terrible, theonly thing that was even remotely edible were the egg rolls and they weren't anywhere near as good as where we normally get themfrom. I would not recommend this place to anyone. I literally threw away all of the food after everyone took one or two bites. Read more

I wish I could give 0 stars. I used to order from here early 2000's and the food was GREAT! I LEFT Cape Coral and returned a... year ago and boy what a disappointment my order yesterday was. Cold food, over fried Crab Rangoons to the loins the flour wasbrown. House Special Fried Rice had old rice mixed with fresh rice and was all clumped up as when rice is scorched. Horribleexperience, my husband went to pick up our order and said the place inside is disgusting and if would have seen before wouldhave NEVER ate from here. What a disappointment! Read more

We tried this place twice and I was disappointed both times. The first time I got chicken chop suey and it was super super... salty. Completely terrible. I was disappointed but I figured I'd try it again just in case it was an odd time, not then norm.Tonight we got sweet and sour chicken and the chicken was tiny little pieces that were very chewy like they were old. And therice looked like it was burnt and just old and mixed up together. And the sauce being sweet and sour I expected a light orangeand instead it was a dark brown. Thinking they made a mistake on the selection I double checked it and it said number sevenwhich is a sweet and sour chicken combination. So no mistake, just the sauce was not what all the other but Chinese restaurantsserve as sweet and sour sauce. Egg roll was heavy with grease not light and crispy. Completely disappointed a second time. Iwon't be going back. Read more

Horrible, horrible! I've eaten a lot of Chinese food in my life but nothing quite this bad. I figured I'd try a new place, that... was a bad idea. Food is WAY overcooked and pretty much tasteless. Portion sizes are small compared to cost of a similarestablishment. I ordered on a third-party app so I can't comment about the service but let's get into the food. The "Friedrice" is just that, there's no pork in it at all and no flavor unless you douse it in soy sauce. I ordered sweet and sourchicken, the breaded chicken looked like it died 2 weeks ago and was shriveled and overcooked and the breading was thin & not ahint of crunch. The sweet & sour sauce was just barely edible as well. The last thing was the beef teriyaki, I don't know who'spreparing it but I got a huge chunk of fat on one of the sticks, that NEVER happens and I've never had it happen on such a thincut of meat. Bottom line, save your taste buds and money and eat somewhere else. Read more
