Good local coffee store in Canton. Their mocha coffee was great. Drip and cappuccino coffee were decent.
I love coming here for a cappuccino and a scone. I have to say in all honesty it was the best scone I've ever had. And I am a... huge fan of scones so for me to say it's the best one it really has to be an amazing texture, freshness, and taste and it fitall three! I also got a chocolate chip cookie that was gluten free and made with almond flour and it was delectable! I alwaysreally appreciate their coffees and their expressos because they're fresh grounds they're made to order it's so much better thangoing into one of those chain coffee shops where they push a button on a machine to get you your cappuccino. One day I willfinally stay and experience the ambiance of the area they have a great little patio now and inside is so cozy that I really wantto stay I just never have the time to do it but it's a really great place to sit and have a conversation with a friend or getsome work done. For what it is, five stars. Their Belgian Waffles could definitely be addictive - not your usual mixed-batter-poured-and-pressed... into an electric waffle maker. These are so amazing in texture and taste they don't need anything on them. No syrup, no butter,no powdered sugar or chopped fruit. These would be found somewhere like Austria, where all baked goods are taken to the highestlevel. We brought two home, and the third opinion had equal praise and pleasant surprise. One is enough for a serving. Thecoffee is also boutique and the beans are roasted right on the premises in a separate building behind the café. It's sold in avariety of ways like lattes and cappuccino as in most coffee stores. My latte was perfect. My partner thought his caffè mochahad more chocolate than coffee but still enjoyed the quality of the chocolate in his drink along with his waffle. Bags ofcoffee beans can also be purchased with the Giv Coffee label, from espresso to decaf, dark roast to their version of a breakfastor house blend, plus a half dozen or so in between. We learned we were drinking the "Esperanza Caturra" being featured that dayand bought a bag. Drinks other than coffee are on hand, as are logo t-shirts and local farm honey. There are pastries and anegg sandwich as food options. When I inquired about two lunch sandwiches I saw online in a menu photo, staff said they did usedto have the turkey pesto panini pre-COVID, (and a grilled cheese), but they haven't brought them back yet. They should sincethey're open until 3PM, and customers might want something more lunch like in the afternoon. I love the French music thatstreams through the café. Soothing and sophisticated. Giv Coffee started in 2011 roasting 80 pounds of coffee in a garage anddonated their profits to an orphanage in Nicaragua. Now having grown into their own retail spot and bean roasting building, theystill donate part of their proceeds to charity. You don't have to be in Seattle for a custom cup of Read more
When the winds blew East and the leaves turned a rustic brown that fateful autumn I knew something magical had happened in... Canton... Giv Coffee opened for business. I've been so many times I've lost count but sit down by the fire with me and let metell you a tale of the day magic returned to Canton. My Sunday was like any other, after an uneventful weekend of chores andgetting laid off from my job as a ghost to human translator. I was driving home dejected, forlorn and with no future prospectsas ghost to human translators aren't particularly in demand come November. That's when it happened, I could smell the change inthe air, the faint smell of fresh roasted beans. I stopped and walked up the door, mesmerized by this new business, thelocation seemingly having been an empty plot of land just hours prior. I opened the door and the decor was bright and inviting, and neatly decorated, the white walls felt like a blank canvas inviting me to the possibilities of coffee. I scanned over themenu and was greeted with a myriad of coffee creations. I decided to keep it simple and in short time the friendly staff had myAmericano ready for me. I sat down, staring nervously at the wall as I always do for at least thirty minutes when I go toStarbucks. Surely this espresso based delight would scorch my tongue the way the sun at the Kalahari desert had scorched many aweary traveler, I could not drink this beverage now. Then I heard a calm voice from behind the counter "you are safe" the voiceassured me "you are safe to drink". It was the barista, looking down at me with a reassuring smile. Without hesitation I putthe cup to my lips and took in the aroma, the flavors, the complexity, then tears streamed from my eyes. The Americano wasalready at the perfect temperature for me to drink. Anyway 5/5 would recommend. Read more
