I could rave on and on about this place due to how great it was. The meal was so fresh and beautifully prepared. The staff were... so kind and welcoming. The location within the garden centre really sets the ambience, and for a summer day the sun/weathertruly wasn’t overbearing. The dessert was hand-crafted with such a modest presentation. The paired matcha tea wrapped up theexperience beautifully. Wagashi Tea House will be a Canmore visit talking point for years to come. Read more

What a treat. Hidden gem inside a garden Center. Authentic Japanese tea and cake. Other dishes are great for lunch as well. The... Japanese mochi cake were made fresh. Amazing experience to watch how they were made, it’s like watching an art show. Stronglyrecommend! Read more

We found this Gem within walking distance from the Blackstone Mountain Lodge. It was a bit tricky to find but it is located... inside the garden centre. I was little skeptical when I saw it was located in the garden centre but it did not disappoint. There is some seating inside and there is also seating outside with a view of the garden and the mountains. They had the sablefish bento box as a special and the fish was perfectly cooked and was delicious. The bento box was the perfect the portionsize. It had everything from rice with black sesame, vegetables and a salad. We also got iced kuki cha green tea. This teawas so good I actually bought the loose tea and took it home. The waitress gave me instructions for hot and cold brew. Thesalted caramel chocolate tart was so good! Not over sweet and a nice texture. The pie crust was perfect and reallycomplimented the tart. The passion fruit creme brulee light and airy with a nice vanilla bean flavour. The caramelized sugartop layer was thin and brittle. Also the fruit was a nice addition to help cut the richness. We enjoyed our lunch here andwould come back again in the future. A hidden GEM! Read more

Very cute restaurant inside the greenhouse that also sells desserts and various meats/fish. Food was delicious and flavourful.... The matcha tasted high quality and it was nice they had non-dairy options as well. They only have a few tables available, so Isuggest going on a quiet morning or booking in advance. We were given both menus but only able to order off the same one, whichwe didn’t find out until some of us wanted to order from the breakfast menu and some wanted to order from the lunch and thentold we could only choose one menu. It seemed there was only two staff at the time, so our wait time was longer than expected, but the food still tasted amazing. Would like to go back to try their desserts or matcha ice cream. The food here is excellent and beautifully presented. The dessert especially was wonderfully shaped and hand crafted with... impressive skill. Prices are a bit on the high end but was disregarded at the taste. This is definitely a hidden gem in Canmore. Read more

Such wonderful owners! We preordered the neikiri, got drinks, tried the food and icecream. A bit pricey, but nothing too crazy... for Canmore. They also have a lot of serving ware, fresh fish, and japanese beer for take home. Loved it, and will be back forbrunch. you MUST try the matcha soft serve and daifuku mochi. Read more
