Reviews for Doc Brown's BBQ in Candler, NC
Was surprised to see beef ribs on the menu. Two large, very meaty ribs that were killer! Great bark and flavor, super moist.... These are definitely Texas quality beef ribs! Had a small sample of their brisket also, which was excellent. If you want greatbbq, this place has it. the lady that waited on me was very nice also and gave excellent service. I will be coming back here. Read more
The brisket is slow cooked the Appalachian way with tender intentions and scrumptious burnt ends galore. On the side, mac and... cheese pie is browned to perfection, certifiably lip smackin collard greens don't sit but for a minute, and a moststructurally-sound flavor powerhouse of a cornbread muffin with a complex sweetness and those wonderful edges is such a treat! Great BBQ. The half chicken was very juicy. Pulled pork sandwiches are loaded up with meat and delicious.
The BBQ was good, the collards were good. The brisket and was some of the best we've ever had and worth the trip here just for... that. Mac n Cheese were also very good. Also a surprise was the corn bread which was moist and delicious with just a tiny bit ofchar.. It's hard to find good corn bread(even though it's easy to make, most places ruin it). Will be back! Good service, nice people. The food, however, was undistinguished, unless you crave pork ribs and that only. Their banana... pudding is also pretty good. Read more
We were in close to closing time. This was a little over a month ago while staying at Airbnb. We were getting food for about... eight people. Now because it was 20 min to close , they had already run out of some things. We were trying to get mac & cheeseas a side for a lot of the plates but after we ordered we were informed that they were out of mac & cheese as well as some otherthings. Only two people got the Mac n Cheese. They offered to put a pan in the oven but because they had already shut the ovenoff it will take a while. I just didn?t think it would be fair to make people stay after closing time to cook mac & cheese. Thecashier and the owner was super sweet they were trying to offer us other things but my kids are picky. I just canceled thesides for that. The only negative is the macaroni salad had olives in it. We have never seen that before. None of us eat olivesand so that was a downer. It was another side that my dad didn?t like too much but other than that the food was great. They hadgave us what seemed a little extra meat. I thought maybe because of most sides being out. It was definitely appreciated lol. Thecornbread was freaking awesome as well. The meats were good and the sauces flavorful. The one vinegar one was a little strongbut we enjoyed our meals and would stop by again. Read more

I've heard good things about this place over the years and finally made my way out there to try it. I got the pulled pork plate... with collard greens and Mac and cheese pie. My significant other got the same but with baked beans instead of collards. We alsogot some spare ribs on the side, bigger than I thought they would be but at $3 each a really good deal. I also grabbed a thingof their Brunswick stew to try later at home. All the food was fantastic, pork was incredibly tender and moist without anyoverwhelming seasoning on it. Mac and cheese pie was amazing, best one I've had at any restaurant. Would totally eat hereagain. Small thing but worth noting: they have a parking lot, so you can freely roll up in here and get food. They also have adrive thru available too. Read more
