They brought out the most amazing sushi rolls, and rolled nice n tight so they didn't fall apart. Beautiful presentation on a... wooden ship, and the miso soup appetizer was delicious. We did not expect this. In a last-minute adventure to nervously try sushi in our small town of Cameron Park, we selected one of... three that appeared in our Google search. Our nerves were additionally stoked when we literally decided to move our parking spotaway from some parking lot tweakers. We didn?t give up. That would have been a huge mistake. The place was packed, so I tookthat as a good sign, and the wait was short. The first thing we noticed, besides the cleanliness, was the transparency of theirdisplayed ingredients, and the chefs working in plain sight. Then we were able to see their craft, and it was artful. Our firstsurprise was their Special Nigiri section of the menu. It was unique, and reflected what I hoped to be from a chef whosecreativity and talent exceeded the typical discounted sushi roll restaurant. Everything sounded amazing, so we tried as much aswe could. Our waiter was knowledgeable, and helped answer questions related to things we hadn?t seen before (butterfish,Kaiware, etc). He was patient and attentive. Then the magic arrived. The special nigiri was had ordered came with a fewcompliments of the chef, and they all struck 10/10 ratings for us. This is a next-level restaurant, in a funky location. We?rethrilled we have it a shot, and the whole experience was far beyond any expectations we?d had. You must try Mikasa. Read more
