Reviews for British Pride Bakery - Cambridge in Cambridge, ON
Lovely store, big selection of candy, baked goods and frozen foods. Bought some empire biscuits, square (lorne) sausage, potato... scones and a few more delicious bakery items. Read more
Went in with a list not knowing what half the items were. Staff were incredibly helpful and helped me find everything I needed.
I bought some bridles and small individual steak pies there's next to no meat. Only gravy and pastry. Something has changed.... Pies used to be full off meat. Sorry at the price you need to go back to your old meat management. Read more
I bought 3 different meat pies at the St Jacob's market this past weekend.all of which I was excited to try. One was a blue... cheese and steak pie. It had absolutely no blue cheese and about 3 pieces of steak. Extremely disappointed as I know the twoflavors work together well. . The steak and mushroom pie had about the same inside. Bought the curry chicken pie and was atodds looking for the chicken. the flavor was great but it had two tiny pieces of chicken in it. So essentially there was nothingbut the pie dough . For 17 dollars for 3 pies and they were pretty much empty. So all in all a very very disappointingsituation. Read more

What a truly hidden gem in Cambridge! Full of imported snacks and goods, I was so happy to find English Dairy Milk Buttons (my... favourite!) Jams, crisps and custards are also found here. There's an assortment of frozen meats in the back, as well as colddrinks. I picked up a loaf of Scottish bread, which was SO soft and moist - I had a plain slice in my car because I was excitedby how good the bread felt and it tastes DELICIOUS just on it's own, highly recommend. The chicken curry pastry is also sotasty, I am impatiently planning my next visit to try the other types. The store itself is basically spotless and maintainedvery well. The woman who checked me out was pleasant friendly. My only regret is ruining wonderbread for myself after havingtheir Scottish bread. Read more
Positives: I enjoyed their plain and blueberry scones. They were moist, and they don't try to add any other flavours to them,... which I liked. The girl working there was masked with a cloth mask; I was glad that it wasn't just a face shield. The hand pies'pastry is flaky and nice. They seemed to be following all of the Covid-19 protocols like limiting customers in the store, encouraging distancing, and providing sanitizer, and plastic shields at the food counters and even near the entrance - greatwork! Negatives: I didn't see any Devon cream to go with their scones. Also, their buns were the worst I have ever purchased. They were dry, tasteless, and burnt tasting (I didn't want to make another stop somewhere else just for buns, which is why Ipurchased them). Zehrs' buns would have been better. ???? We threw out the leftover buns. Also, their cheese and onion piefilling for their hand pies tasted like cheap, frozen, cheese pierogi filling from Zehrs, and it was mostly tasteless. Thefilling tasted processed. I was hoping to find somewhat of a substitute for the amazing cheese, potato, and onion hand pies (atthe Handpie Company) that I had in PEI; I certainly didn't. Read more
Michelle was the friendliest sales associate I've had the pleasure of talking to in a long time. Great service!
