Reviews for Koreana in Cambridge, MA
The food and atmosphere and staff were all very good. I rated it 3 stars because- when I was ordering for the bbq at the table,... I only ordered a plate of the bulgogi. The waitress said when ordering to cook at the table you pick 2 meats, so I addedsomething else not thinking it would be $27 for each meat. It?s just very expensive. I eat Korean bbq often so I?m aware it canget expensive but not like this. The drinks? my niece ordered a Shirley temple and it tasted like water and cherry juice. Sentback (told the waitress it tasted like water)and got a cranberry juice, also tasted like water. I hate the Blue Seattle and thatwas the most watered down drink in my life. Not worth the price for me to return but recommend you going if you have never hadKorean BBQ before, they help you a lot. Read more
We decided to try this restaurant because of their bbq offering, however, our favorite dish from the night was actually the cold... noodle with spicy sauce. The heat level was just right! The meat was kind of pricy for the quality of the cut. Read more
Reluctant to re-visit Koreana after a subpar dining experience here a few years back despite being minutes walking from home.... Second time around, the place is still the same, but food improved. Especially the raw beef sashimi appetizer was veryrefreshing since it was sliced from frozen meat. Rice cake in my kimchi soup was a pleasant surprise since not many Koreanrestaurants do that, although I did wish there were more tofu in the soup. Also, the soup bowl with fuel to light up with tokeep it hot and boiling was very nice as well. Response from other dining mates of their dishes were positive as well. I?d saythe verdict has definitely changed for the better, and it?s worth trying if you live close by. Read more
I would start off by saying the food tasted amazing. We got 4 different meat for the BBQ. I feel like they were definitely over... priced compared to other places I have been too. Reason why I give it 2 star is because me and my partner felt veryuncomfortable. We felt like 2 of the employees was ?recording us? from the bar and laughing at us while we were eating (theirphone camera was pointed to my table) Also my total came out to $145. It was recommended to give 18 percent which is about $24.I only brought $200 with me in cash. So I gave them a $15 tip. Total of $160. As we was walking out, the lady rolled her eyesand shakes her head. As I was reading her body language I can tell she wasn?t happy, I?m assuming because she didn?t get 18percent tip. I believe $15 was still a good tip especially for only 2 people eating. The server came to flip the meat about 3times. I was able to cook the bbq for the rest of the time. I?m not obligated to give a 18 percent tip. This is the reason whyI am writing this review so other customers could know. THEY EXPECT A 18 percent tip. Overall I wouldn?t come here again. I donot recommend. I felt judged as I was eating and they felt privileged. It?s way to overpriced. They can kiss me a**. Read more
Great kbbq and service! Haven't been back in years but it was just as good. Get an order of bbq and apetizers to fill up. Meat... is fresh. Got thin brisket chadeul baegi and pork belly samgyup. Bbq cooked over gas no coal. Servers help cook. Rice came wmeat. Side dishes on point and refilled ???? Except kimchi wasn't good this time. The soups appetizers and most things aregood here can't go wrong. Quality korean restaurant in Cambridge w gas grills. Can have long lines but there is small seatingto wait. Put ur name down at the front. Customer service was great. No bells on tables like korea but friendly servers. Fullbar. Soju is 15 bucks. Same as most restaurants. Also have soju mixes. Only thing this place isn't near the T red line. Thereis a small parking lot and st parking. Read more
I've always seen this restaurant and never stopped by, but finally took the chance after a nice cold hike yesterday. Craving... Korean BBQ and this place met my appetite for Korean food. I'll admit the menu is very big and it can be sort of difficult tonavigate but it's manageable. The food was flavorful, although they didn't come out as hot as I'd expect, still very enjoyableand the size of the plates are enough to share between two people. Lastly the drinks were ok. I tried some of their Soju drinksand they were too sweet for my liking. The interior is comfortable and inviting. I recommend stopping by the place last nightIt felt like it was a local favorite, so that says a lot about the buissness Read more
Great Korean place. I was stunned to taste that amazing pork they served - one of the best seasoned pork I've ever had. Few good... highlights: they have a big menu, so lot of choices. They have great ambience, ideal for corporate as well as personalmeals. The service was quick, we did not need to wait for them to change the burners and the meat cooked in it. One smallthing, which restaurants pay less attention to is, please try to keep restrooms ultra-clean, if not, it adds up to be a reasonone might not perfectly like your place. Apart from that, I found everything was great and I highly recommend this place. Read more
Not bad, but nothing super special. Their menu is pretty standard for Korean food but not too extensive. Not many side dishes... and you only get side dishes with certain orders. The side dishes were also kind of disappointing?they?re usually one of myfavorite parts of coming to Korean restaurants but the dishes and the tastes just didn?t hit the same. I got the kimchi jjigaeand I liked that the pot came with a flame under it to keep the stew hot. The taste was standard but not outstanding. The kimchiused in the stew was ok, wished they cut it a bit more into smaller pieces. I think they could?ve added some more pork, i onlyfound a few very small pieces. Overall not bad but there are much better places in Allston. Read more
