You have the option to sit inside or sit outside and enjoy the wonderful weather of Camarillo. The ambiance of the restaurant is... worth experiencing, the staff are extremely friendly, the veggies are cooked in butter making them tasty, the mashed potatoeswere fluffy with the right texture and melted in your mouth, and the chicken was stuffed and had you wanting the next bitebefore you were finished with the one in your mouth. Prices are just right for a restaurant of this caliber. Be prepared to haveyour animals on the ground so the restaurant can stay in compliance. I know this by overhearing the conversation between staffand a customer that wanted her dog to be up at the table. Read more

In short, Twenty 88 is a winner and on the verge of a 5.0 star in my book. Beautiful modern décor, long and nice bar, cool... lighting and artwork, nice servers & staff, and a very important point -- wonderful food. I got a wonderful draft of a mangowheat beer to start at the bar while the rest of our party showed up. When we were ready to be seated, we moved back into thefront room. Teal painted walls with white leather? It works ¯_(?)_/¯ The menu is great, small, but filled with 10 out of 15things I wanted to try. I settled on the Cherry glazed Short ribs [$34, 5.0 stars], and settle it was not -- one of the bestI've ever had. My bff got the Citrus Crusted Seabass [$29, 4.5 stars] -- it was fantastic. With a group of 6, they took careof us. We all raved about the place. Thumbs up! Read more

I had dinner with my family last Sunday at this restaurant in Camarillo and was terribly disappointed. The service was... incredibly poor. Before we had a chance to study the menu the waitress came to take our order. We asked for a few minutes. Shedisappeared and did not show up for another 20 min and when the food arrived, we had to wait for utensils as she had forgottento bring us! I ordered filet mignon for $58. The meat was bland and was slapped on top of a tasteless dried mashed potato with ascope of previously frozen carrots and green beans. Even the presentation of the food was in a bad taste. My husband orderedribeye steak($62), equally tasteless and in poor presentation. We may as well dined at Denny?s and not spent so much on such atasteless low quality food. The menus offered ?enhancement? for steaks for additional charges which we thought was ridiculous. That meant for $58 filet mignon and $62 ribeye steak you just get a unseasoned piece of bad quality meat at this restaurant. Atotal ripoff with utterly poor service. Not recommended. Read more

While the food wasn't overly creative, Twenty 88 did some of the basics really well. I was thrown off by the mishmash of... offerings that seems to scream identity crisis more than eclectic. But, what they did, they did well. Strong meat choices likea Jalisco Short Ribs and good ole pork chops. Risotto with scampi, a special surf and turf with filet and lobster. I did noticethe large portions and a few at our table ended up taking food home. A good choice of starters with limited dessert choices butall solid. They had a decent wine list and, I must say, the service was great. It's comforting to see the "team" of servers andbussers work in unison and our server (Kameron) had the right balance of chit chat without trying to hard. He made sure we hadrefills and had great timing and patience with our large group. This night we had a solo vocal guitarist that was greatcompliment to the venue. (aka I liked his music) Gong further, the inside dining was packed and noisy but not in a bad way. There was outdoor seating as well which might have been quieter despite being on the old town strip. I would say the priceswere moderate to spendy for what you get and well worth it for a group or an engaging night out. You have to find parking butnot too bad on this busy night. Read more

First time here, great location and cuisine. Would have been 10 stars, the hostess was was excellent, and our server was nothing... short of next level incredible-on every level. What earned this place 3 stars, was the manager. His lack of people skillsmanifested it 2x that night, from his snarky comment to my date who showed up early, and then to myself when I went inside towash my hands later. Not how I would run my establishment, but hey, no sweat, run yours however you like. As it turns out, thereare no shortage of alternate options in this area, hence not being in any rush to return. Excellent food, excellent staff, and a superb dining atmosphere. Everything an elegant restaurant should do, they do perfectly... here. Hats off to my waitress Amanda, and the manager who checked up on me every so often, from a drink refill to dessert. Notto mention, the food here is absolutely delicious! Top quality ingredients used here for sure. I also tried their ?ButtermilkCream Pie? dessert, shown in the photo below, and it was BY FAR the best dessert I have ever had at any restaurant! I would pay$50 for it, it?s so good. I highly recommend you try it, and I highly recommend stopping by for a meal here. I would give 10stars to Twenty88 if I could. ???????????????????? Thank you for such a pleasant dining experience! Read more
