Quite disappointed by this restaurant that have been open since 1991. I thought of it as an institution but our mussels were... quite ordinary, the Cesar salad without taste and the cannelloni overcooked. All my friends had the veal. Masala, combozolasauce, etc. The vegetables were or overcooked or under cooked, the sauce was nice as well as the appetizers; the shrimps and thecalamares. The service was fabulous but for the price, there is so many great restaurant in YYC, i would not be back. Read more

Yesterday my friend and I came here to eat. We were sat at table 7. Quite simply, the food here is delectable. The head chef,... Joe, is clearly a meticulous man who cares for his craft, this shines through the quality of food you receive. The servers werewonderful, kind, and funny which really enhanced our experience. Absolutely amazing restaurant. 10/10. Will be back! Read more

This restaurant used to be good so I recommended it for our night out with friends. It was a mistake. The waitress was rude and... intrusive. It was so dark in the restaurant you couldn't see the food. The portions were very small for the price; two smallcrackers with a tablespoon of bruschetta $15. Everything was significantly overpriced and the food mediocre. I had the veal butI doubt very much it was veal. The vegetables were so tough my friend couldn't cut it. The potatoes were dried up pieces of skinreheated to an inedible degree. At a neighboring table, they sent back their food because it was inedible and the second disheswere left mostly untouched. My friends were too nice to say anything but I was very embarrassed. Save yourself the trouble andgive this restaurant a pass. Read more

We dined at Villa Firenze this evening. As usual the service was excellent, the food was excellent, the ambiance was excellent.... Our favourite authentic Italian restaurant in Calgary. We had Vongole and Calamari both of which were very good. The owner cameover and spoke with us personally to make sure everything was OK, much appreciated. Read more

By far one of the worst service we have ever received. The food was mediocre. The only good thing was their mushroom starter.... The worst was their server ?Carla?. We have never been so mistreated by any other restaurant. Felt very racially profiled. Shepurposely missed our table each time she went past it. Didn?t come once after giving water. Intact the kitchen staff that cameto the table with food had to yell at her to clear the table. She actually had the time to sing to another table (to show herskills or something) and not do any of her job. We ended up leaving the food half way. Will never visit this restaurant again! They really need to fire this server! Read more

My gal pal invited me to @villafirenze for my birthday. She and I had both never been but she looked for online reviews of... Italian Restaurants in Calgary and chose this one because of the reviews. I'm so glad she did as the food, atmosphere and staffwere amazing. I ordered us a bottle of Pinoit Grigio before she got there and they had it chilling at the table ready to go.The wine list was extensive especially for a smaller venue like Villa Firenze with Vino choices for even the most avid wineaficionados. Our server recommended the Mushroom appy, the proper name escapes me, but boy were we glad. It was absolutelyamazing. Not sure of the cream sauce they used with the large portobello mushrooms, but accompanied with the Piniot wereterrific. Next the main course. She had the Champaign Veal and I the Gorganzola Veal. Both were to die for and large enough wecould barely finish them especially having the appy before hand. I absolutely would recommend this place to anyone looking fora intimate venue with great food, excellent wine list, wonderful wait staff and priced just above average Italian restaurantsserving a similar type of menu. I can assure you the few extra dollars are well worth it. Please make reservations before handas this place is obviously very popular as it got quite busy even on a Wednesday night at 6 pm. A classy looking place inside an old house walls. No sparkling water to start, an omen? Had a sausage Appy, very good sauce and... 1 medium sausage cut into 2. Very small for the price. Had Vitello Villa Firenze for a main. Veggies were raw, unable to cut thecarrots, broccoli is cauliflower. Potato was dried out as if made the day before. A really hard crust. The veal was 2 tiny crepelike rolls. Mostly ham wrapped in a battered veal with a tiny bit of cheese inside. Again expensive for average food. Tiramisufor dessert was ok. Read more
