Went to Tu Tierra with a friend and her toddler this week. The service was amazing, and they had no qualms creating a special... plate for the little one. I had a combo plate with an enchilada Verde, beef tostada and chorizo taco. Rice was a bit bland, butthe serving size was generous and quite a bit of meat in every part of the dish. Recently we have been trying Mexican restaurants around town, we have been expanding our horizons of different cuisines. After... seeing the reviews for Tu Tierra we decided to give it a try. My group and I started by ordering the nachos, with a pitcher ofHorchata. The nachos to be honest with the Horchata was honestly enough for dinner, the portions are really good and the foodis really heavy, I can't believe that after my partner and I finished the nachos we were both full. The nachos came loadedwith cheese, ground Beef, refried beans truly and appetizer that qualifies as a meal. The pitcher of Horchata was made toorder, I really enjoyed the fact that the restaurant gives you a pitcher (12$) rather then one glass for 6$ like therecompetitors. As for the main course we ordered the dish in the stone bowl for two with shrimp, the name eludes me, the maincourse was like everything else packed with flavor but by this time I could only spare a few bites as i was incredibly full. Exceptional customer service. Friendly and accommodating. My sister had pulled pork tacos with beans and rice. She loved it. I... had one of the most popular dishes, unfortunately I can’t remember the name. I’m so sorry! It was so good though. I was sadI was full because I wanted to keep eating. This restaurant has glowing reviews and we decided to try the best Mexican restaurant in Calgary , however, the food came out... and it looked like it was prepared by microwave . Lack of flavour , dry meat , the rice that came with one of the dish wascrunchy as if it was left out in the open for awhile. The chips that was served was decent but salsa didn’t taste as if it washome made. The service was great thus the 2 star here. I really hope they will improve their food or else this is not going toattract more Calgarians. Read more
We went this restaurant after reading reviews. Being vegetarian I found many varieties in the menu. Start and drinks were great.... We order 2 dishes from main course and we didnt like any of them. Specially the chimichangas, I felt like it was rip off I thinkit was 21 dollar or something. Vagetarian chimichangas only had rice, beans and very less cheese inside. It was not even crispyenough, it felt just like baked. Every other place we had chimichangas there are lots of vegetables inside and itscrispy. Mashroo Tacos were better compared to other food. We arrived after a day in Drumheller for our middle son's birthday, he wanted tacos. The service we received, even with 3 kids,... was incredible. They did everything to look after us and were so friendly. The food is the best Mexican I've had since being inSan Diego. Huge portions and fantastic quality.
