It was great but a bit small and undeveloped. Music was ok, no light show... Seems like a garage that was converted into a club... but it definitely is nothing special. And with 10 bucks entrance fee, definitely not worth spending it. Was very hot, as if noair conditioning was available. Overcrowded at one point has absolutely no access to the bar... I thought we ain't gonna bedrinking. Prices were high for the quality cocktails and a corona 20 bucks and the cocktail was I swear a shot of something withsparkling water. Would not be going back... The only negative is that there isn't a lot of space and when the place turns into a club atnight, it's quite tight and lacks the necessary space to be able to dance comfortably. Read more
This. Place. Is. Awesome!!! It was my first time going to a club ant it was phenomenal! The drinks were amazing and the... bartenders are awesome! They had my drink in less than 2 minutes and they were very busy. And the music was straight upawesome!(I might be using awesome here a bit much but the place deserves it) Favorite person at the club was the head ofsecurity! Dude is lowkey super chill and is quick to handle situations as to not cause too much of a disruption to all theguests. Will be coming back again very soon! Read more
This place is incredible, I went here for my birthday and they decorated our table which was such a cute added touch to a great... experience. Love the atmosphere, very fun and upbeat. The service was phenomenal! Our waitress went out of her way to make surewe had everything we needed and constantly came back to our table to top up drinks. Our order seemed very cheap in comparison tomost places and their portion sizes are great for what you pay!! Definitely will make my way back when I'm in Calgary again! Read more
For the first time I went to Tropical on 17th after hearing amazing things! The referrals did not disappoint! My server Andrea... was incredible! She was always quick to check in and see how things were going, asking if and when we needed something, and wasfast to return with food and drinks! Even though my to-go order was missing the guacamole and chips, still an incrediblenight! Before leaving after a couple of hours, my friends and I were able to experience the beautiful live singing they had. Atrue and memorable experience, and I cannot wait to go back! Read more
Love the vibe and the ambiance of this place. The margaritas are excellent, especially if you hit up happy hour. My favorite... Taco is usually the al pastor, and tropical is definitely in my top three places in Calgary to deliver on this incredibly tastydish!! Would recommend, but the aware that it turns into a club after 9:00 p.m. the music and energy are great, but make sureyou dine early if you're looking for conversation over dinner. Read more
Went there for the Halloween party, with a group of 5, made reservations and pre bought tickets. It was way too crowded... downstairs. Like I mean 120 in a place with not much more ft² then an average apartment. Tables reserved for bottle service,even though half were empty. We wanted to order food, but weren't gonna stand and eat. Upstairs was closed to us, even thoughwe had a reservation and vip access tickets. All in all terrible. $14 for a margarita poured from a Slurpee type machine isridiculous. DJ was good, music was good, atmosphere is great. This bar has so much potential. Read more
