We went for the buffet lunch and were very satisfied. They open at 11:00 so that suited us. Food was fresh and hot. It seemed... affordable as we each had two plates plus soup. The place is clean. The staff were polite, efficient and amiable. A1. Read more

We?ve been wanting to try their buffet for while then Covid hit. One day I decided to take my co-worker here for their lunch... buffet. Even before we ate , the interaction between the waitress and us was very uncomfortable and unwelcoming. The food isvery good, their chicken wings was amazing. But the customer service was terrible. I felt so bad for my co-worker with how thewaitress was speaking to him. We both decided not to tip, she didn?t deserve one. I tried to be nice and said ? will be bringingother coworkers? she angrily looked at me and said ? NO ITS OKAY? all because we didn?t give her a tip that she didn?t deserve!! Read more

We absolutely love this place! The food is very tasty and portion sizes are good. It's a small place that is cozy, warm and... friendly. More often we get takeout and never been disappointed yet. Read more

I have been going to Toi Shan since I have been a young one, and I LOVE their food. My family mainly gets the Singapore fried... rice noodles, house fried rice, ginger beef, lemon chicken and beef and broccoli. They have not disappointed! I have been toother restaurants within Calgary, such as New Dynasty, and I must say Toi Shan is so much better. Through the years theirportions have gotten smaller, however I can sympathize as prices of food continue to go up, and the years of covid shutdownshave not helped one bit. Of course, you'll have to try it for yourself, but please give them a go if you're in the mood forChinese food. A little tip - pay with cash for a possible discount:) (due to the charge of using debit/credit machines). Read more

I wanted to give myself a chance to calm down and think overnight before I write such a negative review. I work in the... restaurant industry and I know that really negative reviews can actually really impact an establishment. I hate writing poorreviews, but I really feel this one is warranted. There is no email listed on the website that I can see, so I hope the ownersand management see the reviews and try to rectify the issues. I had several recommendations to try Toi Shan, despite the higherprice. My mom lives out of town and barely gets Chinese food, and we were craving some delicious almond chicken soo gai, beefand vegetables, and chicken chop suey. We also ordered egg rolls and were gifted two spring rolls for ordering over $40. Ourtotal came to $64 and change, with free delivery. SWEET! I tipped the driver , and was so stoked to try what was supposed to bethe BEST around. It had better be for $73!!!! To say we were disappointed is an understatement. Almost nothing was reallyedible. The free spring rolls were apparently decent, my daughter would only eat them and I never got a chance to try. Here's arundown: Almond Chicken($16.95)- Way too dark, looked like either super old oil was used, or GROSSLY overcooked. The chickeninside was soooo dry and overcooked. We are talking almost chicken jerky here. I pulled some chicken out and ate that because wewere all starving, but I would have sent it back in a restaurant, just like everything else we ordered. NOT GOOD! Beef andmixed Veg($15.50 )- RUBBERY, and slimy, greasy beef, greasy vegetables, in a POOL of water and grease. I picked a few vegetablesout and ate them, but I had to literally spit the beef out. No flavour at all. Some vegetables were almost raw, some were ok.But still oily and no taste apart from that. YUCK! Chicken chop suey($15.50)- Same thing as the beef- rubbery, slimy, oily, andin a pool of liquid with next to no seasoning. Chicken was completely inedible. The description on the Read more

If I could rate this place as a minus I would. It was the grossest food I have ever had. Absolutely no taste. Anything deep... fried tasted like it had been cooked at least 4 times, you couldn't even eat the batter it was so over done. It was a totalwaste of money, I had o throw it in the garbage. There were three of us, and not one of us liked it even a little bit. I wouldnot recommend this place to anyone, and definitely will NEVER order from this place again. Also we had it delivered and it tookforever. You might as well just throw your money in the garbage. Read more

Cozy inside and the lady who served was helpful and friendly, the Peking duck was quite good and overall had a good experience.

I was very excited to discover this restaurant was able to do gluten free options. I had heard it had great food. ... Unfortunately we found it very lack luster. I ordered 2 dishes that were supposed to be spicy, one a satay dish and the other ablack bean dish. Neither were spicy at all, the chicken tasted like old chicken, neither was anything tasting like we thoughtit should according to the description of it. Our vegetable dish was okay but flavourless. We were supposed to receive crispyspring rolls as a free extra for ordering over $40 but didn't receive them with the order. So don't expect to receive your freeitem as that seems to be a common theme on the reviews. Read more
