Reviews for The Casbah Restaurant in Calgary, AB
This is a beautiful restaurant tucked away in the heart of downtown Calgary. The ambiance is definitely a 10/10. Everything from... the mirrors on the wall down to the cups and plates makes you feel like you're in Morocco. The server was friendly and veryhelpful The only slight downside are the portion sizes. A bit too small for my liking and price but the flavour was excellent! Read more
Lovely Moroccan dinner out with a friend. The food was fresh cooked, well-seasoned, flavorful and the service was prompt. The... decor is visually stimulating, engaging and evokes the sense of mysterious nights somewhere far afield. Anyone with sensoryissues (kids with autism, etc) my find it very stimulating, but we enjoyed it. I love Moroccan food generally and enjoyed mostaspects of the Tajine - the veggies, but found the protein just okay (there was quite a bit of chicken, but it was so-so).However, my friend's Lamb was much better. We bought one order of bread and a feta and spinach appetizer that ran $9.50 for thesmall pastry. The bill for two without any alcohol (one order of bread, two tajines, and a single shared appetizer) was justbarely under $80.00 and with tax and tip, ended up at about $90.00. So be prepared. Could make for a romantic night or a priceyfamily meal. Read more
Amazing! The owner was fabulous and told us stories about Morocco, and the food was also amazing. It arrived quickly and was... delicious. We recommend the dessert sample and mint tea. The atmosphere was like you were in another world. It is a must see! Read more
The ambience is beautiful. Food decorated well and delicious. Chicken and shrimp were awesome.
Beautifully decorated, great ambiance and amazing service. serving size for mains is decent, but unless you are ordering... couscous you will have to order bread or rice with it. Desserts size for the sampler is really small for sharing even thoughthey say it includes 3 regular sized desserts. Read more

My husband took me here for my birthday after a coworker recommended it to him. We loved the ambiance and decor of the place. It... was quiet and dark and was really nicely decorated. The food was very good, we had never tried Moroccan cuisine and we wereexcited to try it. The flavors were wonderful, the lamb was some of the best I've ever had. My husband got a dish with the hen,the hen was fall of the bone tender. Everything was really great and I look forward to trying more in the future. The not asgreat, I felt the service left a bit to be desired. We were about 10 minutes early for our reservation, I felt as though we werean inconvenience, even though our table was set up, clear and ready for us. We stood awkwardly in the entrance way with the skipthe dishes drivers. Being as Moroccan food is not the most mainstream cuisine here, and I believe most people have not tried itbefore, a little bit of guidance with the menu would have been appreciated, or at least an offer of recommendations. I felt theserver was maybe a little bit annoyed with us after we were early, and I felt that the service did suffer a bit from that. Itwouldn't stop us from returning, but I think it was a low point of the otherwise amazing meal. Read more
No words to describe this place. Ambience beautiful. Food absolutely exceptional. & our server which was the owner, was super... intelligent about Moroccan culture & gave us amazing recommendations as we knew nothing about the cuisine. We had the eggplantdip which was beyond good it was so flavorful & fresh. The couscous was INSANELY GOOD with such bold & vibrant flavors it wasdelicious.
