Reviews for Ten Foot Henry in Calgary, AB
The service was amazing here. We did not have a reservation on a Sunday morning, and we were able to squeeze in with not much of... a wait (~10-15 mins) Their cocktail drinks were great selections for brunch and their food tasted great! Since their dishes areall designed to be shared, they have a napkin full of utensils where they make sure they give you the appropriate servingutensil for the dish! They would consistently refill our water and coffee cups, along with the cream and sugar cubes, and wenever felt rushed. The atmosphere was inviting, bright, and enjoyable. They have a great selection of vegetables and I was verypleased on how they were able to transform them into super flavorful dishes! Read more
I'll start by saying I'm a huge restaurant explorer, and it's not a stretch to say this might be the best restaurant I've eaten... at to-date! They have a great wine selection and cocktail menu; the servers gave some great wine recs and I had a perfectcocktail (sweet, spicy, and acidic). The food menu is vegetable forward and quite interesting. They served me the bestcauliflower and eggplant dishes I've ever had -- it shouldn't be possible to make eggplant taste that good! Both dishes hadperfect blends of flavors and they seem to work magic with the sauces here on every dish. I'd marry the sauce they had thoseperfectly cooked scallops sitting in! I'd cheat on that sauce with the sauce the chicken was sitting in! The butterscotchpudding was amazing execution of a sweet and salty dessert -- I give it a 9/10. The dining room is attractive, the staff allhave personality, and there's counter seats where you can watch the chefs do their magic. Lastly, I must give a shout out to ourserver one night, Taylor. She gave A+ service and some excellent recs for us out-of-towners. Give her a bonus or something!..Wow! Ten Foot Henry is definitely a destination restaurant! I was amazed I could get two tables booked with only a few daysnotice. Read more
This is a lovely date place. Tapas. Service is excellent. Great cocktails. Lots of vegetarian options as well as meat. Ambience... was really nice. Easy to reserve a table. Desserts are super tasty (we got the butterscotch thingy because it had great reviewsand it didn?t disappoint) and we even got the vegan chocolate avocado torte to pack up and take home. Thank you for giving us anexperience to remember!! Read more
Top eat of our Calgary trip. Got the tuna, taglietelle (kale and pesto pasta) and the cauliflower. 3 sharing dishes was more... than enough for 2 people. Tuna was my personal favourite. Came on a Tuesday afternoon so it wasn't too busy. Didn't get achance to try the drink menu but it's extensive. Servers were friendly and gave us just the right amount of attention. Decor isa nice vibe. Would be back to try more when we're in Calgary again. Read more
One of the greatest restaurants, our go to restaurant when people come to visit. The food is always exceptional and exciting.... The Potatoes, Beets, Tomatoes, and the Tagliatelle are our ?must have? dishes. You can?t really make a bad decision. Theservice is always exceptional and the staff are extremely accommodating to manageable dietary restrictions. Reservations arerecommended, you can book ahead on Open Table. Went for brunch on a weekend. I would recommend making reservations prior. The atmosphere and vibe was fantastic, it was busy... but everything was still excited in an orderly fashion. And the service was really good. The food tasted great. The tomato andfeta was rich and creamy, we did order another round of bread as 4 pieces wasn?t enough with the amount of tomatoes. Thescallops were cooked perfectly, still tender and juicy on the inside while crispy on the outside. The tortilla crips were also anice touch of texture to the dish. The sourdough pancakes (only offered on the brunch menu), be warned: it is HUGH! Very fluffybut not too sweet at all. It was a great experience overall, all the dishes are meant for sharing however we did find theportions were a bit too small (minus the pancake). If you are a party of 4+, you will get one bite each from each dish. Justkeep that in mind when ordering. Read more
Own of my favourite restaurants. Fresh and real food you feel good about. So flavourful and delicious. Staff are always friendly... and helpful for recommendations. Highly recommend the feta tomato dish with the bread for appetizer! We got the kale Cesarsalad, scallops and some fish dish (can?t remember the name). Everything was great! All dishes are meant for sharing so it?s agreat restaurant to go with a group to share everything and try multiple things. I would recommend making a reservation a headof time as they are always busy and booked. Read more
This place was outstanding, I was amazed at their service and food. All the servers were knowledgeable about the food and took... the time to explain what was presented and had a lot of great recommendations! My server was Lucas and they were so nice! Ireally recommend the cauliflowers, it tasted so good with the gochujang sauce and the sesame sauce really balanced it out. Wealso had the roasted chicken, I thought it would be dry but it was so good and not dry at all. After we had dessert, thecheesecake cream puffs weren?t too sweet and was balanced out with this raspberry sauce. The butterscotch pudding was so good, although I wouldn?t recommend it to someone if they don?t like sweets. Just to say again, the service was incredible, I neveronce had to pour my own water and that?s not even an exaggeration. I really appreciated how caring and considerate the workerswere! The place is also very aesthetic if you wanted to take pictures here too! On a side not when we were paying, Lucas gaveme this absolutely cute postcard! It?s so adorable, tourists who come to Calgary sometimes would actually send the postcardsback from their home country and it was just so sweet that I had to share. :) Read more
