Reviews for Swiss Chalet in Calgary, AB
Decided to order a festive special to go in honour of my grandfather who recently passed. My experience was less then festive. I... arrived to pick up my order at around 9:35pm and was shouted at that they were closed. Seemed an odd greeting as online showsthey closed at 10pm. Had to repeat myself twice that I had already ordered and was told to go over there (?). Went across toHarvey's tried several times to get someone's attention in the kitchen before someone shoved the take out bag in my hand toreturn to the back. When I arrived home, I opened the bag and found no cutlery, butter, salt, pepper etc and when I opened thebox everything was thrown together, cold and dry. It is a rare occasion that a dinner roll is the highlight of a meal. Would notchance a return to any Swiss Chalet after that experience. As costs rise, no wonder more folks continue to chose to eat at home. Read more
We had Shay as our server. she hit it out of the park. She was happy, speedy and just an all around good time. It?s what I... expected when I come to Swiss chalet for a quick simple meal. This is a Canadian staple and it?s sad to see them slowlydisappear. Read more
Just ordered 1/4 Chicken White with Baked Potato, for a take out. The Chicken was excellent But the 2 Baked Potatoes were so... overcooked that we could NOT even cut them to try to eat them. Every unfortunate, and No one at the restaurant answered thephone to speak with them. Just an Update: We were able to revisit the Store on the Following day and were able to show theManager what the issue was and she kindly corrected the issue. Read more
Wow. What a experience at Swiss chalet with my family. First got seated then asked if it be possible to have a booth. But was... told no even tho there were four with no one sitting in them. Bite my tongue order dinner and watch the servers ask every newcustomer that?s being seated if they?d like a booth. Food comes and honestly it was some of the worst food I?ve ever had. Theservice was terrible food was terrible. Save your money and just go somewhere else. Read more
I used to come here with my mom all the time in the 90s. Figured I'd take my kids for nostalgia today. We waited at the door for... 15 minutes to be seated. No greeting, no "I'll be right with you", no staff to be seen. When we were finally greeted it was toolate, we were on our way out the door. The restaurant was not busy at all. Only 2 tables were eating. We left and went toMontana's, just a few doors down with the kids instead. Much better service. We were seated within 2 minutes and eating within30 minutes. If you want a good family meal with good service, I recommend you skip Swiss Chalet and go to Montana's just downthr parking lot instead. Read more
The restaurant and washroom were really clean. The portions are huge and everything came out super hot. First time in a Swiss... Chalet and it was an overall really good experience. Read more
Ahh where to start . This is a family meal with all snack sizes but full meal price . Pie is frozen . I dont know if its gravy... or soup everythings is dry and the chicken is par with what u buy. This is horible food at good food prices . Should have lookedat the food before tipping on this . Should be ashamed to charge people what you do for this . My tip to others . Save ur cashgo buy a frozen pie and a cooked chicken at safeway. And for gods sake the gravey container in my mash patatoes . Its a pandemic . Use your head Read more
The drive-thru debit card machine asked for a tip. No further comments. Well no, actually, prices are a little high, too. And... upon reflection of my bill, they charged me for what were supposed to be included drinks along with the quarter chicken dinnercombos. In retrospect they were skimpy with condiments, too, asked me if I wanted ketchup instead of just including it, samewith cutlery and butter... Which you kind of need for the buns? Awful location, cheap and petty is the best way to describe it.It really just made me feel like I should have gotten a rotisserie chicken elsewhere. Read more
