I haven?t been back since December 2020, but have been wanting to give Zipang another try again, after having used to frequent... this place almost monthly. However I was discouraged by recent reviews commenting on the same type of poor quality that drove meaway from this place back in 2020. In that last experience taking out , I was presented with consistently thinner discolored, unfresh salmon coated with a slimy film, enclosing multiple bones within. The donburi sushi rice was also quite mushy to thepoint where the grains sort of blended together into a soggy blob. I was shocked as this was the exact opposite of the type ofquality that I had ever received from Zipang. The quality of fish had always been A+ and never disappointed. It has been anextremely difficult time for restaurants and I really get that, with supply and demand being an issue alongside the quality offish constantly varying. At the same time, to continue to charge top dollar for a clearly diminishing in quality product issimply unfair. I really hope that future patrons will not have to share the same bad experience that I, alongside many othersare having, and that in the future I can document a wonderfully positive experience when I revisit. They have the right idea. This sashimi ride bowl was good. But the qualify of fish was good but not exceptional. Maybe I went... for lunch on Wednesday and no my weekend? I?ll still come back and hope to come on a day with fresher fish. Read more

It's been so long since I've been back. But it's still as good as I remember it in 2016? Rice is cooked perfectly, fish is super... fresh, all of the staff super attentive and friendly. Read more

Awful! The quality of the sushi was terrible! The ingredients were old and dry. The BC roll tasted stale and the salmon skin was... so tough and hard. The cuts of the rolls was like they had a been cut with a butter knife. Extremely disappointed with the foodand honestly would never order again. Here I'd a picture of some of the ones that didn't fall apart. Kind of look like rolled upsushi balls.. Read more

Sadly as others have mentioned the quality of the food has slid along with service. It took an hour to get our sushi tonight. It... was decently busy inside but I noticed that there were a lot of take out orders. They must focus on the take out orders first asthat is where the money is. I found a fish bone and scales in my sushi today. The rolls were also just not put together verywell. Read more

The quality of this restaurant has slid. The sushi is average but I would not recommend the Omakase to anyone. Our appetizers... came out quickly but then we had to WAIT AN HOUR AND HALF for a regular sashimi platter to come out. The sashimi platter wasnothing special, consisting of just salmon, surf clam, tuna, and some octopus. A server came by to apologize after we had waitedan hour but no one else checked in on us afterwards. Terribly slow service and the food served as part of the Omakase wasnothing special. For the price you pay, we were expecting at least average service but that was not the case. There was nospecial Omakase experience and it felt like we just ordered sushi off the menu. NOT WORTH IT FOR $100/PERSON. Read more

I have dined at Sushi Bar Zipang over the years, and my most recent visit was a little disappointing compared to past visits.... The service was relatively abrupt and crass. The quality, although good, seems to have diminished and no longer stands up to theprice tag. I found the sushi rolls fell apart easily, and were not presented well. The sashimi was definitely well portioned;however, the yellowtail fish tasted a little fishy for my liking, and the color seemed a little dull and grey compared to otherhamachi sashimi I've had. I will be back in the future, hopefully the quality will improve. Read more

Great tasting fresh sashimi. The soba was a little salty, with a soy based soup. We also were missing an order from our plate... but the server was quick to correct the mistake. This hidden gem can get pretty busy at night. Call ahead to make a reservation.Price range is relatively more expensive ($$) than some of the other Japanese places but I guess it makes up for the freshseafood. There are lunch and dinner specials that are worth trying. Read more
