Reviews for Sorella Trattoria in Calgary, AB
Very beautiful interior. We were seated right away when we arrived. Our server was nice and came by right away with water. After... ordering, the food came out pretty quick as well. There wasn’t a single dish that stood out to me or that I enjoyed. Maybe myexpectations were too high since I really do love Mercato. Perhaps we will just come back for cocktails on their rooftop patiowhen it opens. Read more
Beautiful atmosphere. Engaging team. We enjoyed a variety of non-seafood dishes and we were not disappointed. The Croquettes had... a nice crunch with a smooth consistency on the inside. But that housemade tomato jam made this dish! The Pappardelle has thiscreamy ricotta that combined with the basil pistou was just a great bite. We finished with the Limoncello Tiramisu - if this wasthe only bite I had all night it would have been worth it; such a great twist on a classic. Our server Emma was delightful, friendly, and knowledgeable of the menu. Being that the restaurant is newly opened, it’s great to see the team so engaged. Read more
The Little sister of Mercato, Sorella, had great ambiance, service and food. Apparently the rooftop patio is set to open soon... with views of the skyline and limitless sun! Free parking in the back is definitely a plus. I loved how the pasta is al dentebut the octopus tender and flavorful. Will be back to try more of the menu. Read more
Cute place indeed! I just find the seafood tasted a bit fishy. The safest was the grilled shrimp. I also agreed with some of the... reviews that the place is very loud! The sound bounced from all the pretty concrete walls and hardwood surfaces. I recommend yousit at the bar to help with the chat. The service was good in general. All the staffs were friendly and pleasant. Given it is arelatively new restaurant, we caught the bartender learning how to make her drink from a recipe which was adorable.Nevertheless, it is a very beautiful place. I am happy to come check it out and maybe try some non-seafood dishes next time. Read more
Had a great time at Sorella. Beautiful lighting and atmosphere. The octopus was large and tender with perfect char. Tartare had... a light and fresh taste. Cauliflower cacio e pepe, absolutely delicious, creamy and tender, piping hot. Pappardelle, greatpesto, fresh tomatoes. Spaghetti al limone, so refreshing with occasional burst of lemon that balanced the garlic. Capellini, traditional dish, great tomato sauce and basil, good one for the kids. Beef tenderloin was very tender with a gorgonzola stuffedbeignet, delicious surprise. Tender prawns and scallops, grilled perfectly. Branzino was served skin side up and was charredbeautifully, definitely getting this one again. We tried the Limone Blonde Ale which had a very light lemon taste, a great onefor the summer. There were four of us so we shared all the plates. This was a great experience, close to home so it will be aregular stop. Read more
As a sister restaurant to Mercato, Sorella didn’t disappoint. The decor and ambience is trendy and friendly. The service was... excellent. I prefer staff to wear masks but I know not everyone likes it. My server wore one which I really appreciated. Thefood was delicious. My favorite was the Broccolini even though my hubby thought it was a tad too charred. The octopus was tenderand tasty. Pasta was solid but my favorite was still the greens. We will be back for sure. There should be more of these upscaletrendy restaurants in the Crescent/Tuxedo/Mount Pleasant area. This is a great start! Read more
