We cannot say enough good things about this place. We arrived and got lucky enough to have the table under the skylight, which... was magical. The service was impeccably awesome from Bill and Jane! We had an absolute blast enjoying the wide and eclectic beerselection paired with food that was entirely too good to be true. We ordered the Knödel, pickled gizzards, chicken wings, theWelsh Rarebit, and some charcuterie. It was all fantastic, but our favourites were the Rarebit and the Knödel for sure. Theeccentric design of the lamps and art make for a fun viewing experience and add to the comfortable atmosphere. There wasn't asingle TV to be found (which is great for those who don't care about watching sports), and the menu was a treat (hilariouspictures, horoscopes, D&D references, and a crossword puzzle). The atmosphere is SO COOL, it?s upstairs, dimly lit, we were sitting right by the window with a nice view of Inglewood at night... on a Saturday. The service we received from Bill was incredible! He took such good care of us and knew exactly what we wanted.We did a cheese board pairing with a beautiful red sour beer that would turn any wine drinker on to beer. I don?t even like beerand enjoyed all three selections he carefully chose for us. The Gouda cheese, dips and bread were incredible. I cant go onenough from atmosphere to service to value. This bar is a real hidden gem and I am so happy I stumbled in. It?s located next toMadison?s the craft nacho place. Bit of advice next time you?re thinking of going to Madison?s, head to rain dog bar instead fora truly unique experience where you actually feel cared for. Very cool concept of sampling craft beers with small plates as accompaniments. Really enjoyed talking to the owner about each... one as he brought them out to our table. All around great place and would highly recommend! Wish we could come back weekly, butsadly are just visiting Calgary as part of our honeymoon. Read more
Really awesome spot, in the heart of Inglewood. Passionate staff and great selection of beer. Pretty much a wine bar but for... beer. Food is really good, and general vibe is really chill. Lots to look at and chat about. Menu comes with a modern daycrossword puzzle, ask for a pen. Very clever, can?t want to go back! Read more
Hands down my favorite place to go for a chill evening with excellent food and great beer to pair it with. As a beer nerd and a Certified Cicerone I can say with absolute certainty that this bar is doing beer right! With anamazing selection of classic styles from around the world to Calgary?s best craft brewers Bill has curated a brilliant beerlist. The food menu pays homage to the classic brewing regions of the world, inspired by German, British, Czech and Belgiumtapas, snacks and share plates? it is flavourful and delicious!
