Oh man, where to start. My friends and I went here on May 28 to celebrate a few important milestones. All that we encountered... were so many rules, rude staff (including a 2-day on the job waitress), and relatively tasty food (a plus of the wholething). My friend and I arrived at 4 and were told we couldn't participate in happy hour if we sat outside (on the firstbeautiful day Calgary has seen). Their happy hour is a great deal so we moved inside only to be told that we had to sit eitherat the bar or the pub table (while the rest of the restaurant was empty). When the rest of our party joined about 30 minuteslater, I asked if we could have a full menu. Nope, that didn't kick in until 5. Fine, whatever. Our food came (really good) andwe had a good time. Then we wanted our bill. It took forever to get someone's attention. I think we asked 3 people for our billbefore it came. They couldn't divide it up appropriately (their system doesn't "work like that") and to make matters worse, thebill was wrong. No happy hour deals were inputted and then when it was corrected, there was alcohol on their no one had ordered. The food was good but the service itself was awful. I don't think I will be coming back here. Read more
We went there for happy hour on a beautiful day. We asked to sit outside, and were not informed that happy hour does not include... the patio until we went to pay. The bill for the whole party came together and could not be separated. When it came time to paythe bill was miscalculated and we ended up paying over 20 dollars extra. Service was average, food was decent although withsmall portions, overall experience was poor. Read more
I was with a party of 4 for drinks and food. I am a young guy who didn’t get blessed with a hipster beard so I look about 5... years younger than I am. With that being said everyone ordered drinks we are all roughly the same age (22) I was the only onecarded at the table. It seems like it would be common decency or even restaurant etiquette to id everyone sitting at the tableif they appear similar ages. Thanks for making me feel like a jackass decent food though. Cocktails are on point. I always go during the happy hour after work. I love the steak tapas. Wine selection is also good.... Don’t be getting it by a glass, just grab a bottle would be cheaper. Read more

Went here with some friends to catch up and have a drink, we had originally planned on meeting at a different establishment but... it was very busy so we went to the Ox because of a prominent sign on the sidewalk starting "high top cocktails & food %50 off"and who doesn't love tapas and cocktails? However after a pretty decent selection of tapas and a few drinks we were ready forthe bill. And that is when our evening was tarnished by what we certainly feel was intentionally misleading advertising. Ourwaitress brought the bill and we immediately noticed that everything was full price, so I asked about it and she informed usthat it did not apply to the patio. We were confused since "high top" is not a common term for restaurants, and the waitress didnot inform us when we requested seating on the patio at 5pm. She then checked with a manager who repeated the same message. Werecognised that this was not their choice and so we paid our bill, which the waitress was unable to split and failed tocalculate properly for us to split ourselves. We left with a sour taste in our mouths. I attempted to contact the restauranttwice to get this resolved but have had no response. So I'm now letting everyone know about my experience here so they can makean informed decision and choose a better place to go. Read more
