Best experience and delicious food all around. Cocktails are great and beautiful. I love studio Ghibli and some of cocktails are... named after the movies which I found so creative. Nupo is excellent for date nights/ celebrations. I will be back! Thank you Read more

Honestly the best Japanese food I have ever had, hands down. It is pricey, but the omakase experience is well worth it! We had... the joy of having Ashley as our server and she was such a delight, professional, fun, and extremely knowledgeable! We lovedhearing about the history of the food and drink and why what we were enjoying was so special. 10/10 would recommend. Read more

The presentation, environment of the restaurant and the service was pleasant and enjoyable. However, the food was... disappointing. We ordered the seafood tacos which were lackluster. The texture was closer to eating raw fish paste which madethem taste overly fishy. The hot pot was completely absent of flavour due to the overpowering spices. Despite this, we enjoyedthe aged sable fish nigiri and the quality of the sushi rice. Overall, I'd only recommend the restaurant for its warm andfriendly staff/environment. Read more

The food was good. It was presented beautifully. Some dishes had some nice, complex flavour profiles. Our server seemed... genuinely enthused about the food and drinks. We ordered mocktails off menu and they were delightful. Fruity and floral. Read more

Their food was incredibly delicious and creative! Loved how they paired interesting ingredients together, and it works. Parsnips... in Sushi was the best! Every bite was a surprise. An invitation to expand your taste buds. It’s a quaint and cozy placesituated in East Village. Perfect place to chill and enjoy great food. Read more

When would people in Japan come out for an omakase dinner, I asked the chef. He joked that it would be when they get paid. Well,... yes because the price tag is $$$ but I can see that it's definitely a treat for yourself or to someone you wanted to treat. Theexperience was very special and it's nothing I have tasted before. Every sushi come with a bit of a twist which brings out avery unique flavor. It was well executed and I would totally recommend this place. The one shortfall which I felt a bitdisappointed was the dessert. It was a pumpkin spice cheesecake. It was a bit of a meh for me. Or perhaps everything was done sonicely, I was hoping an exquisite dessert to end the night on a high note. Nevertheless, it won't change my rating. Well donechef Eden and team! Read more

One of the best chances we’ve taken was stumbling into Nupo on a whim. ???????? TLDR; best small Japanese inspired spots in... Calgary. Highly highly HIGHLY recommend. I was immediately interested in this spot when I peeked into the windows of Nupo.Warm, inviting and lively. Walking in the atmosphere was intoxicating - smiles all around, dancing bartenders and swiftkitchen. Now here’s what hooked me in and made me decide this is one of the best restaurants I’ve been to in a very longtime. My go to is nigiri. Simple and always the fish to shine. Scallop, sablefish, salmon, spot prawn, uni. The quality andattention to detail was incredible. This was a type of quality I thought was impossible to reach in a land locked city. The mostunique menu item I noticed was the aged fish. Salmon and sablefish completely melt in your mouth, the process of aging they docompletely changes the profile of the fish and enhances all the good parts of the fish. This level of detail definitelydoesn’t go unnoticed. Even as simple as a scallop nigiri was mind blowing. The uni was some of the (if not the) freshest, highquality uni I’ve ever had. In the midst of all this high quality fish, they still take the time and effort to offerincredible plant based options including nigiri, gyoza, ramen and more!???? I just want to personally thank Chef Darren, Ashleyand Josh for making this not only an amazing experience but for being our new go to spot in #yyc ???? Read more
