Modern Ocean: Had Wednesday Special, two entrees and a bottle of wine, it was good. I liked Scallop Risotto. Modern Steak: Had... the 40oz Benchmark tomahawk steak for 2 people a week ago. They also have this Tomahawk for 2 as Sunday special, a lot cheaperthan what we paid. Anyways, it was a great experience, first time being there, liked the deco, good atmosphere. Their steaksdon?t have much seasoning, instead they give you three different kinds of salt so you can season the steak yourself. We alsoordered two dipping sauces, horseradish and peppercorn, the peppercorn sauce tasted better, horseradish didn?t have muchhorseradish in it. Steak was good, nicely cooked and it was placed on the hot metal plate so it kept cooking while we wereeating. There were two sides came with the tomahawk, we had polenta and brussels sprouts. It was the first time I had polenta,it was tasty with the bacon and parmesan cheese. Service was good too. I would go back to try other steaks. Read more
Bad experience would not go back. Was rudely greeted by the host who was slumped over scrolling through his iPad. Sat down at... 720 and was out at 915. Service was ridiculously slow even with only 4 tables on our side. Wait staff was highly inattentive butvery friendly. Empty glasses weren't being filled and empty cans and dishes weren't being taken away. Entres took a lifetime tocome out and our halibut was way over cooked. Risotto was like a paste and it was just completely bland. Caesar was terriblymade with a huge over pour. The sea bream was perfect though. Over all I would not come back. From the moment we arrived at the restaurant, we were warmly greeted. This was our first time here. The staff were absolutely... incredible. Hats off to Amber and everyone who made our evening one of the best experiences ever. I?ve never encountered a morepersonable team. From the gentleman who seated us, to the fellow who brought out our dessert, and the girl that filled our waterglasses, everybody was just so wonderful! Now let?s get to the food ???? The oysters were delicious. Highly recommend. Thesteak was so flavourful, 2 of the best steaks we?ve ever had. The sides were incredible I can?t say enough about the sides. Thedessert was terrific. All the food was absolutely a 10 out of 10. Highly recommend Modern Ocean Modern Steak. The quality of thefood is nothing like anything I?ve encountered in Calgary. Great experience! Staff was super helpful as it was our first time. Everything was spot on! Good selection of sides that kept... everyone happy and kept the steak the main star! We got the ribeye tasting menu, the Alberta Wagyu was my fave! One day willhave to return and try the Japanese Wagyu.. Read more

Chic restaurant. Very modern interior. Loved the entry way (look up!) The food was delicious, expensive but delicious. Ed was... our waiter, he was pretty busy tonight but a great waiter overall. Highly recommend this restaurant. Cant wait to rry the oceanside in the future. Read more
Amazzzzzing! Highly recommend!!. It?s a beautiful space. Very upscale, relaxing and feels like you?re really in for a treat from... the moment you sit down. We loved the seafood dishes the server recommended to us and despite being so full we also opted forthe baked Alaska dessert. I recommend you do the same!! It was pure heaven.
