My husband and I absolutely LOVE this restaurant for any and every occasion! Our server this evening was Francois, and on top of... the always exceptional service, he gave us the best service we've ever had at a restaurant! The food as always was incredible. The mussels were the star of this dinner. The shrimp was well done but the sauce was a little sour. The octopus was a bit more... sour than we expected as well and the cauliflower/kale dish was mouth puckeringly sour. The pasta was good, normally I'm not agnocchi fan, but this one was nice and soft. Is it just me, or is the drink menu here extremely limited? Delicious food. Ambience was great too and we got to watch the chefs in action since we sat at the bar. Ordered the linguine and... tagiatelle, and the pastas were fresh and had an al dente bite to it. Best part of the meal in my opinion were the mussels(cozze) loved the sauce that they were cooked in! Only thing that was subpar were the brussel sprouts. Expected a little morecrispiness to it. Such a lovely experience overall. Read more
This is a great restaurant located centrally . Food was amazing , real authentic Italian . We ordered Rissoto, gnocchi , fungi ,... tiramusu and pastry stuffed with cream. Everything was great . Amazing staff service . Great ambience . I will surely visitthis restaurant again Read more
Surprised to see an Italian family style dining restaurant in Calgary! The premise has the restaurant on one side and... marketplace on the other. The tables in the restaurant are nicely spaced apart. There is a cooking pot right in the middle. Hugewine selection too. Overall food flavor is good and the ingredients are fresh. May be it was busy when I visited but some ofthe menu items could have been prepared better . The risotto was a bit undercooked. The mixed grill meat, particularly thechicken was overgrilled. Loved it. I was fortunate to eat at Mercato Mission so I was excited to eat at Mercato again. The food was outstanding and... consistent between the two restaurants. Amazing pastas and meat. The Negroni was spot on and great service. Definitely one ofthe best restaurants in Calgary. You can't go wrong, definitely will go back again when I visit Calgary. Read more
