We finally were able to try this ?palace in the sky.? No dissatisfaction at all! Everything was awesome! From the main lobby... hostess all the way up to the 40th floor, Major Tom was everything we?d heard about. From the amazing drinks, through eachcourse we chose, to the finish with desserts! Our server, Barry ?The Bartender,? was so knowledgeable and friendly. He guided usthrough the menu and made suggestions and paired each course we chose with a beverage. Always surprising us with his wittyhumour! I?ll tag the photos with what we had? Overall, best meal experience we have had in Calgary in a while. There are reasons why restaurants become part of Canadas Top 100 Best Restaurants list and if you go Major Tom you will... understand why.\n\nIt isn\'t just about the food albeit it is a big part of it but I\'ve been to a number of rooftop or highfloor restaurants and this one feels different. As if it isn\'t part of an office tower or hotel and that it just exists byitself with magnificent views of the city.\n\nThe decor was on point. It felt like a cool smoking lounge without the smokingwith fantastic design that complimented the approach to the drink menu and elevated that ambiance.\n\nHospitality is alive againpost pandemic and the touches and touch points from the host at the main floor checking you in and guiding you to the elevatorall the way to the staff recognizing any dietary restrictions and/or special occasions it made you feel like you were the onlyones there.\n\nAnd of course the food and the drinks are done in a way that feels upscale yet approachable (definitely have thecheese toast). The menu is unique with really interesting dishes. There has been so much hype about this place that my expectations were really... high. The view is beautiful of course. The dishes are small but tasty. The service is exceptional. My favorite dishes were theGolden Beet Salad and the Crab & Shrimp Roll. Read more
