Came to the Last Defense Lounge last time I was here it was the Alumni lounge, Order a pint of Misheard Lyric Nepa that is... packed with ripe mango, guava, and sweet citrus flavour and aroma. I order the special tonight half price nachos like all othernachos comes with the regular toppings what set this nachos apart from others is the cilantro pepita sauce. I went here after ice skating for a drink with friends. I ordered a beer and a poutine. 20 minutes later, still no beer. Had to... remind the server and they brought it out 5-10 mins later. I was not sure if the poutine was coming or not, since they forgotabout the beer and I ordered it at the same time as the food. I was about to leave and then the poutine arrived. Definately oneof the worst poutines I've ever been served. Fries were cheap, generic ones from a frozen bag, not much gravy or cheese curds.Anyone could make something similar at home for $4, but I paid more than $12. I also had to ask for cutlery to eat it. On top ofall that, it was not busy there, so we should not have had to wait that long for the beer (20-30 mins) or the food (close to 1hour). Then, the place was about to close down and we still had not gotten our bills. We had to ask the server to bring ourbills even though we were the last ones there and they were about to close. I wish the servers were more on top of actuallyserving. I know it's a tough job, but a lot of that is common sense stuff. I won't be back for food unless it's a weeknightspecial and I miiiight go there for a beer someday. Tips for the poutine: use fresh fries and deep fry those. Make a bettergravy and use more of it (all the fries should be covered), and use 4-5x more cheese. If you don't want to pay more for cheesecurds, then add a heck of a lot of mozzeralla. I am biased as I am currently employed there. Nice selection of beer on tap. Regular cocktails. Our awesome bartender is always... making something tasty. Clean kitchen, excellent food safety, hygienic staff, with new and changing menu items. With a fewfavorites. Pizza, wings, wraps. We are vegetarian, GF, dairy free friendly too. Read more
