Unfortunately our experience at La Piccola Napoli was very disappointing. We came into the city to celebrate a family member's... birthday and chose this restaurant based on the reviews. The service we received was basically non-existent. Some of theentrees were brought to us cold, but we could say nothing because our server never returned to our table until it was time forus to leave. Another staff member came just to clear our dishes long after we had finished eating and alerted our server that wewere likely looking for the bill. The bill was then dropped at the table along with the debit machine and we were once againleft to fend for ourselves. For the price of the meal, the portion sizes are quite small and the presentation is sloppy. Wewon't be returning for our next special event. Read more

I hesitate to write this review as while I'm an infrequent customer, La Piccola has been one of my favorite Italian restaurants... for many years. We came here in August for a special occasion and it was pretty underwhelming. No one checked in on us duringour dinner until it was time to pay and it came across as very rushed and insincere. The atmosphere was chaotic even though itdidn't seem to be particularly busy. There was no sign of Pasquale, who normally made for an amazing atmosphere. The food wasflavorful and the tiramisu for dessert was out of this world. The main issue beyond the rough service was the portion sizes. Themains were outrageously small for $30+/each. We were both hungry after dinner which wasn't cheap at well over $100.00 for 2. Thetiny portion sizes probably don't upset a lot of the senior clientele who live in the nearby retirement homes. I'm guessingthat's why the entrees were so small. It is very bizarre as in the YouTube video advertising La Piccola at the 1:40 timestamp,the chef Mike says quote: "You leave from here well fed and satisfied, you don't have to stop for a sandwich on the way homebecause the dinner was so tiny." This place is awesome! The food is incredible, and you can even taste the freshness in all of their dishes. Nothing is overdone,... and the portions are just right. For one person you can look to spend anywhere from $30-$40 after taxes (depending on what youorder). I would highly recommend this place for anyone who is looking for an authentic Italian meal, as well as to support asmall local business. Read more

Excellent Italian food. So good. Plus an admirable job done by the owner running the front of house by himself.

We came in during busy hours on a weekend dinner without reservation. We waited for a seat and it was worth the wait. The... service is top notch and friendly. A memorable experience. The decorations were outdated, but it shows the age of a successfulrestaurant. All of the food were amazing, salmon was cooked well and we'll seasoned. The bread was delicious, warm andperfectly soft to my liking. The pasta servings were just right. Overall, I would go back again. Read more

The owner made us feel at home from the moment we walked in for a dinner date, he is very friendly and chatty and explained the... menu for us. The food was some of the best Italian food I have ever had in Calgary, the chicken parmigiana was delicious! I amsad that I didn?t discover this place sooner, as it had been around for 30 years but I am only discovering it now!
