My cousin got married in their Alberta Ballroom and then we had dinner and reception in the Oval Room and Crystal Ballroom. The... catering for the wedding was not what I would expect from a Fairmont but that is really the only negative thing Iexperienced. The rooms were clean and the concierge were awesome. We checked into the hotel a day earlier in an advance of a tour. We were immediately impressed by the staff and cleanliness of... our room. We attended the dining room to purchase a dessert for later. The male at the desk invited us to have a seat and that aserver will be right along. We waited 10 minutes and received no assistance. I waited an hour and returned. I explained to thewoman now manning the desk what had happened and that I was not happy with the service, or lack thereof she directed me to thebar as I would receive faster service. Well after waiting another 20 minutes to receive our dessert, I was also asked for myroom key to pay for the dessert. Read more
Great location, classy and luxurious hotel. Staff were super kind, especially at the restaurant. We had a signature room with a... nice view of Calgary tower. The bathroom's door was noisy, not easy to open and close, and there was a blockage in the sink. Read more
Last night was a movie. My friends and I embarked on an intrepid evening which involved great music, hot girls and copious... amounts of alcohol. The staff were great and helpful with sending things up to our room and the room itself was great as 2 of uswent out to bat and had some cuddles. Was not impressed! The room smelled moldy they didn't mention nothing about how loud the train that goes by at 2am Is. Room... service was terrible, never thought anyone could ruin a ceasar salad but they did. The pool was the only ring that was a wowfactor. You have to pay for parking, no breakfast and bus boys can't help from the parking lot. I felt ripped off payingthose prices, I've had better experiences at a Hyatt or even best Western express. Definitely will not go back or tell myfriends and family to stay away. Read more
The front desk staff seemed really overwhelmed and flustered. He made a few mistakes, including checking someone in our party in... the wrong room. The rooms were comfortable and spacious but too hot! Even with the window open the room hardly cooled down. Thegold floor service was amazing and the food was always delicious. Worth the extra! Had a lovely stay over the weekend. Even though we booked on a travel site with a set rate the front desk upgraded us to a king... bed at no charge. Quiet, comfortable and some of the best water pressure of any hotel we've stayed at! Read more
