Reviews for Green Chili in Calgary, AB
I ordered a few items from here a little while ago and I’m very sorry to say that we could not eat any of the items, and I... physically had to throw them out because I didn’t find the food worth keeping. The shrimp korma was disgusting, it literallytasted like the shrimp was floating around in sweetened condensed milk; absolutely no flavour whatsoever. I understand that akorma is a mild curry but this was beyond bland. The beef samosas were doughy and in general were not made well – there areliterally dozens of places in Calgary that do samosas better than this. The gulab jamun had a smell of vinegar and anoff-putting texture and I had to throw those out as well. The only thing somewhat edible was the naan and well, I don’t thinkI’ll be returning for just naan to this place anytime soon. I think this restaurant gets complacent because the majority oftheir customers may not be familiar with Indian food and they take advantage of this as the quality of the food just is notthere. I would definitely avoid or try another place if you can. Edit: To the owner (see response below): first of all, I amfemale, not male. Secondly, I don’t care how many years you’ve been in the business, that has nothing to do with the qualityof the final product. It doesn’t matter how much experience your chef has, if they can’t deliver good results in the finalproduct. Read the other reviews that people have posted- I am definitely not the only one who feels this way. Finally, you areconfusing the concept of spice level with integrity and flavour of the dish as a whole. Those are different things. Read more

Ordered Paneer Chilli from Skip. Since it was at night, they didn't even marinate the paneer and it felt like we were served... paneer Chilli SOUP. Tried to call the restaurant but by than they were closed. Clearly shows that they don't care about theircustomers. Gosh, hated that paneer . . . Read more
Would NOT recommend this restaurant!!! Ordered dal makhani and chicken pakoras, food was stale. Dal seemed like it was leftovers... from yesterday and spoiled. Chicken pakoras were so hard that it was impossible to chew. Had to throw away everything. Extremelydisappointed! Read more
Excellent food, and friendly and very helpful staff. We had take-out, with Lamb Roganjosh, Chicken Jalfarezi and Palak Mushroom,... and they were all first-class. I've been going to Green Chili at Crowfoot for many years, for both dine-in and take-out, andfor a few years I felt that the food quality had dropped off. However, this most recent meal was as good as it ever was, andpossibly even better. Read more

This place was good and I always ordered from here. Unfortunately I'll never be ordering from here again after almost chewed on... STAPLES in my food!! This was inside a piece of meat! I am in shock and terrified if I've accidentally swallowed any withoutnoticing. * Reply to Owner - I've never called or spoke to anyone in the restaurant like you've mentioned in your reply, and Ididn't accept free dishes and won't be ever at your restaurant. That is definitely not true and a lie. Read more
***update Nov 2022: upon my latest visit this weekend, it seems like the chicken biryani has turned into a chicken pulao... instead. I've adjusted my rating down a couple stars. This is the best Green Chili of all the locations. Make sure you orderfrom Crowfoot; don't make a mistake and order from Crowchild like I once did. Great flavour and value for money. Finally a placethat gives enough chicken in a chicken biryani! Love this place! Read more
